My first hybrid connection mech, opinion needed

This is the first time that Im using a hybrid connection and most of the atomizers I use have easily adj pos pins.

My Orgiens are a bit more difficult to get adjusted, you have to take them apart and if I do extend the pin longer, then it tends to spin or leaves a gap.

I can adjust them to where pin extends enough, doesnt spin but wonder if its extending enough to be safe.

Ive been using mechs for over 5 years an they are my preference, but I still take it very serious and dont want to be another "dummy" with a hybrid story. :)

Generally speaking, I do not like using adjustable pins on hybrid topped mechs. I feel that if it can adjust out, it can also adjust in. Instead, I will choose atomizers with protruding, fixed, or very tight center pins. If, for some reason, there aren't any that fit that criteria in your collection, then adding an o-ring at the base of an adjustable to prevent it from screwing in is a stopgap. I want them to stick out about 1mm and NEVER overtighten the mod on the battery... if the positive indents, bad things can happen.

Kudos on taking this step safely!

The only adjustable center pin on all the atties I have are the Flash-e-Vapors. THey adjust and there is NO movement unless you want to. Its never loose or wobbly. Ive used some like the Taifuns and Squapes that do tend to move but would not ever use them on a hybrid for that reason.

So does the above photo look good? On the Origens if you want to adjust you have to take it apart and once you fix it, its on there with no movement but you can not extend the pin very much or yes, it does move, but you know right away because when you screw it on the ohm reader it will start to spin and you can see your coil move out of shape right away.

Thats about the farthest I could set the pos pin on the origens. On the Origen RDA its hard to get it to barely extend and for those I use on other mods or use the special top adapter that came with the Woodpecker for those with almost non extending pins.

Thanks Shawn H :)

Probably the safest RDAs on the market, today, come from Vandy Vape. The insulator extends beyond the negative threads, and the positive pin, beyond that...

The new RDAs from Geek Vape are also coming with some rather extreme center pins...

Those are nice , but probably much more geared to bigger clouds and exotic coils. For me the perfect RDAs are The Origen V3 and the Chris Creations Fatty's.

With the FEVs I can extend the pins a bit longer than those and with no wiggle, rattle or spinning.

Take a look at horribly n
amed Wanko. Nice pin, single coil deck, or pop-in coils that look like old car fuses. The air can be restricted down to a decent MTL.

The atty in you pic is a True hybrid atty........ as in NO 510 connector.... but rather full tube BODY threading.. correct????

Personally I would leave t he pin tight... and adjust battery height from the bottom if possible... and Only extend the pin if you can't bring battery up to it.

The atty in the pic is an RDA already threaded into a hybrid topcap...

Ok I see that now........

Thought it looked funky... the outer brass thread threw me.... using small screen. Made it look like the hybrid connect for my Kayfun 3.1.

Some times it's better to shorten the 510 barrel. Rather than extending the pin. Grinding off a mm or so can even help atties that don't sit flush do so.

I would feel barely comfortable using that, BUT, only because the insulator on the 510 looks so ample. Typically if I'm using a hybrid I stick to non-adjustable 510 pins with much a more protruding positive.
Ie the goon or the tugboat as examples.
Edit: the Narda and hadaly are pretty decent as well for a less airy performer
