Bought a used Kanger subtank here,, it's my first subtank. Took some fiddling but WOW! Filled it with a nice juice I made myself and man, this stuff is GOOD. And the hit,,, no wonder you have to drop the nic level! I can see a couple more of these in my future!

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it. Big step up from the Nautilus, though I still like those for MTL. My mistake this morning was loading up 12mg mix... Holy crap!! Had to cut it down,,, a lot! Flavor will suffer but that's ok for now. Continuous learning with this stuff!!

You may actually see more flavor once you cut your nic down to say... 5mg or whatever works for you in a tank that delivers much more vapor than the mtl tank that you used 12mg in.

Less nic, more flavor :D

Congrats on your graduation to a sub ohm tank

I used 24mg in a subohm tank one time... well I know what nicotine poisoning feels like now

Now I stick to 6mg, at 3mg the taste is just too light, I need that little kick from the nicotine... funny thing is it's not the effects of nicotine I want just the taste.

Good for you, glad you got it working.

Just ordered a Subtank Mini myself, first one for me too.
Not sure if the latest version comes with the OCC vertical coils or the old (rebuildable type).
Many of the earlier bugs seem to have been fixed now, (crosses fingers).
Luckily I'm down to 2mg NIC so I hope I don't need to reduce mine any more:eek:.

Actually, I have a friend ( that I converted btw!) that bought a subtank kit that had the RBA base and she gave it to me. Said she'd never use it so I can play with that. Haven't had a chance yet. After a couple days with it I'm not sure I'd use it as an everyday thing,, too much cloud for me. Flavor is great though. Good to know about the coils though, I'll look into that. Now if I could just mix ONE juice that turned into an ADV I'd be set.... Off to the lab!!

Kimber, I use mine MTL. You can get higher ohm coils for those, or buy the RBA base and build them.

What PG/VG ratio are you using?

My only concern with many of the newer ones like the Bellus, Crius, & TFV4 have such huge juice channels.
Seems like most are geared towards the high VG vapers.
At 70/30VG I'm afraid I'll have a big mess.

No, you won't. That's the max VG I can tolerate and it wicks just fine for me. The last couple mixes I've had in it have been around that, or even just a tad less VG. You'll be fine. I'm using the nano. Also, I've had no more than 2 of the air flow holes opened up on it.

Thanks, that's good to know.
I'm also a MTL vaper so I like a bit less airflow myself.

I've been pleased with mine. I wouldn't steer you wrong, you vape just like I do. Same kinda ratio, same kinda tanks. I do wish they made the RBA deck for the nano, but I think the coils look easy enough to give a shot.

I have to use 60/40 or 70/30. Too much vg makes me cough. I haven't had any issues with flooding or leaking at all. I've been doing direct hits with them and it's ok, I guess. But I'm really a MTLer. I've got the air holes wide open too. They're ok, after a few days of use but I find myself going back to my Nautilus for good MTL hits. Maybe I just need to mix up a better juice

That's why I went for the ST Mini, gives me 2 different type heads to rebuild and play with.

But I've been eyeballing the UD Bellus, Smok TFV4 Mini, & Crius v3.
Scary stuff, think maybe I better get used to the ST Mini first.

Have you tried closing off the air holes down to 1 for MTL?

Depends, of course, on the tank/deck/wicking/atomizer/etc. I put 70/30 in my Tobeco Super Tank Mini, with a. 5 ohm Tobeco coil installed, and it flooded instantly. Conversely: I have 50/50 in my Crius, right now, with it wicked identically to when I had max VG in it and it's happy with the juice ports wide open.

Right, but we were talking about the Kanger Subtank, as a MTL tank. I've tried working with a higher VG and my lungs simply won't tolerate it, even on the wide open air flow tanks. I have a Crown, a Triton, an Arctic and a Starre tank. High VG is just something I can't do.

It just goes to show how we all vape differently...I personally vape 100% VG, with no issues at all..just sayin,

I catch enough flak with the wife about my vapor in the house using just 30VG on a Davide at 7 watts.
(Works so good on my Provari for going to work, it's just been so durable and reliable).
If I start chucking a subohm with high VG I'll end up having to go outside to vape:(.
Not to mention stealth vaping at work.

So then I ordered a OBS T-VCT last night from Wetvapeso_O.

Gonna have to stay out of these threads:).

I ran into that problem when my wife was still sick with something that had given her a horrible cough. She couldn't vape, herself, at all. (But she could still smoke. Go figure.)

Yeah... I ain't doin' that. If I had to go outside to vape, I'd give it up. So I keep it to a minimum. Don't chain vape and often use a tank with a supra-ohm coil, 70/30 and low wattage (12-14W).

Not to mention stealth vaping at work.
I don't do that at all during normal business hours. Only when I'm there, by myself, during off hours and nobody else is around. It isn't against the rules. I want it to remain that way.

Yeah there's NO stealth with this thing. And I don't like filling a room either,, it's annoying to me so I'm pretty sure it's annoying to the hubs. Maybe subohm just isn't for me. Ehhhh, I'll give a few more days but might end up giving it to a friend. Have to admit though, it does give great flavor.

Have you tried any of the 1.2 ohm heads yet?
If I rebuild those I may have to use a contact coil to get it to fit down inside that small hole.

I'm just after more flavor anyhow, it's for at home anyway cause it's too hard to carry my Istick 50 in my pocket for work.
Just hoping the RTA's will be easier to rebuild cause the Kanger PT-2 coils are so tiny to work with, although doable.

I'm still building those. I just see no reason not to. I use them all the time. I know a lot of people complained about Protanks but I've never had a minute's trouble with mine.

@kimber, don't give up on those tanks. I use mine MTL all the time. I have a 1.2 ohm coil head in mine right now, airflow closed off to just one and it's perfect. A little noisy, but perfect.

I have two of those and love them. I'm a DL vaper though, but if you dial back the airflow it should be ok for MTL.

Got my Subtank Mini today and I like it so far, just threw in the OCC 1.2 vertical head to try it out.
A bit airy for MTL, compared to my PT2 clone, even when choked down.
But it's doable and has pretty good flavor and no leaks so far.

The OBS started some weeping from the air holes yesterday so I've got to fiddle with it some more.
That was with the RBA head but I suspect a vacuum leak, maybe from that juice flow cutoff on top.
Gotta try it with a pre-built head next tho.

I never bought the RBA head for mine. I've heard a few people who have them say they do tend to leak occasionally once the juice level is down to about half a tank. I still might try my luck with one eventually as I'm getting tired of having to buy new coils.

Wonder if the stock heads are rebuildable?

I would think they could be rebuilt, but with my poor eyes, and arthritic fingers, I'll leave that to someone else to try.

I might be wrong, but I thought he was asking about rebuilding the OBS heads. I've rebuilt standard Kanger OCC heads, but the OBS heads are vertical coils, and I've never had any luck rebuilding them, or having them rebuilt for me. I've pretty much resigned myself to cleaning them, and reusing several times, and then chunk them in the trash.

Yup, it was the OBS heads I was asking about.
Wondering if a horizontal coil would be doable instead of vertical?

I would imagine so, but I had a vape shop try to do it to one of my Herakles coils 3 times, each time it flooded and dumped a tank of juice within minutes.

I rebuilt a couple of the subtank heads with horizontal coils for a guy at work.
They were the vertical type tho, without the split, had me a bit confused cause I thought they were the old style.
Not sure if they'll even work, but I might just try to redo them as vertical.

Ya, I think it's because they have 4 juice holes only a vertical will work.
Unless I can figure out how to plug the other 2:D.

Kanger tanks are a must have. Although I don't use mine very often these days, they always work great when I do. I think my favorite of the bunch is the massive black plus version.
