I got this last month after a perilous journey across the Atlantic, apparently in a rowboat. It took two months to arrive, after ordering it on Christmas Eve. A Fakir's Mods FX-22 with a Troy2 dripper. The mod and atty both have 510 capability, but by removing the top cap and the 510 adapter plate, they become a true hybrid combo. The topper is really intended for vertical coils-- the photo on the web page shows it wicked Stainless mesh like a Genny--and it isn't as free breathing as I might like. But I build it in the .8Ω-and-up range with small wire and she vapes flavorful and moderately cloudy in the 23-27 watt range.

I like it! I still have my Stingray X, but it gets fingerprint blemishes. It will be there for the vapopolis. :)

It's a super piece of gear. I like mechs and true hybrids. Next up, I think, will be a Rig/Roughneck :)

It hasn't quite the airflow I like, but I still remember how to build like a Tootle Puffer, so there's no problem getting some cloud out of it, it just takes a while to make a full draw, lol. I'd mod the air slots, but it's a leak resistant design with the air running under the deck, up the center post and out ports directed at the coils. I don't think it's help much. And I am a bit scared to mod the center post, it's welded into place. The deck is built like a dual coil Genny, with a tall center post and the outer screws just above the top of the juice well. Oddly, the center post is battery negative, the positive contacts are the lower ones. You are just about forced to build verticals.

Probably just as well it is a medium air machine, the best way to wick verticals is horseshoe, and that's not all that good for high-watt, juice drinking applications. The people who make it are located in Ankara, Turkey; Old Skool European types, and they do Gennys. Aside from this dripper, and a single coil little brother, the only attys they make are Gennys (all 510, no hybrids, go figure). There's a pic of the dripper on the website wicked SS mesh, believe it or not. So I though, what the hell, and bought some mesh. I built a set and got lucky, worked the first time. They were OK, tasted very clean. Still, no cleaner than rayon after break-in, and rayon is a lot easier to do. I have read SS wicks really shine with complex flavor profiles, like the bakerys or cereals, and those are not my juices. Maybe I just don't get it. I need to find out where the Genny-heads live over here and go see what I'm doing wrong :)

Here's some pics of the deck:

I am not all that fond of bottom air drippers, but that does look nice, and I found a few in stock here and there. It's actually a few bucks chepaer than the Rig/Roughneck combo, as well. Methinks I shall have to buy a Kennedy Comp clone to see if I can live with the topper. Non-adjustable air flow is not one of my favorite things anyway, but I do like 'em airish, so it might not be a handicap.

The Kennedy Competition will not provide a proper comparison. The Kennedy 24 will.

Congrats on the new gear. I suggest horizontal coils and more cotton in the coils. The vape would be drastically better.

Looks as if the coils are wicked with rayon from here...I might thin the tails out a bit more though...

I tend to agree, but I haven't figured out how to build horizontals in it. It's got a Genny style deck with 3.5-4mm of vertical distance between the screws.

Rayon it is. I could thin the tails, and usually do, but that coil set is built on a 1.5mm mandrel to lengthen the coil and thus shorten the legs. I didn't see a lot of need for it. It's wearing a set of 2.5mm coils now, and I did thin them.

Does juicing that wick make it swell? Cause usually when you see wick not in good contact with the inside of the coil you're not using enough wick.

Uh, ok. o_O
Yeah, it's really intended for SS Mesh wicks. I put a set in, and they were ok, but probably not worth the effort.

You mentioned the Rig/Roughneck V2. I have 3 in that combination. Like them very much as you can guess. The quality is top notch, made in USA. My only bitch is I needed o-rings and emailed 3 times for the size, no response. I finally called and customer service didn't know the size but sent me a free set of o-rings, I still need to find the size for backup.

It looks like a super piece of gear, no doubt. I dunno about the o-rings, but if I can ever afford one, I'll measure them and post the size.

They just added a o-ring package to their Website, I'm good now!

I've got a big rig rough neck V.2. I feel like I'm missing the point...:/ kinda underwhelmed compared to the versatility of my Snow Wolf 200W T/C.. However, the build quality of it is excellent. Easily one of the best quality mods I have. Pretty sure I could use it to build a house BUT.... I duno maybe i need a better coil build for it...

I have a Kennedy clone, dont remember if it's a comp, 22, or 24.... BUT I love it, it's a beast! Only critique would be that it heats up way to fast (that maybe due to the quad coil build I use in it though), this could also be attributed to the fact it's a clone too.. but I'm not a doctor...
