My next sub-ohm tank?

I'm somewhat new to sub-ohm vaping, and have been really enjoying my eLeaf iJust2. I upgraded to an iStick TC60W (mainly for the convenience of charging outside of the box) and I am looking for a replacement for the iJust2 tank (I want to pass the iJust kit on to my daughter in hopes she can quit smoking).

I'm a direct lung hitter, I like lung-filling pulls, cool to slightly warm vapor. I've settled in with stock 0.5ohm coils at about 30-35W, and like to roll my own as well, using an Anyvape RBA now that I'm getting into DIY juice.

So far I have two tanks that I am seriously considering:

1) Uwell Crown, mainly for the top-fill, and the fact that is has an available RBA.

2) Kanger Subtank Mini for the 4.5ml capacity and what looks to be a nice RBA that is included with the tank.

I would appreciate opinions on either tank/RBA from people who have used them. What are the cons? What are the expected improvements over the iJust 2? Will my iStick TC60W be sufficient for either tank?

I also have seen the Melo 2 from eLeaf paired with the iStick TC60W, but I think of eLeaf as a cost effective 'starter' tank, am I mistaken?

What should I expect from such an 'upgrade'? I really do enjoy the iJust2, good flavor and vapor, but I would really like to have the ability to fill without removing the tank from the mod, as well as an RBA that is made for the tank as the Anyvape RBA works, but is a hassle when removing the bottom of the tank for refilling (the RBA's cover tends to stick in the chimney, causing it to unscrew from the RDA's base when opening the tank).

Thanks,
Dom

+ 1 on the Crown..I vape these two with the .25 coil at 60-65w for good clouds and great flavor..

60 watts is barely enough to get the most out of the Crown .25 coils (my favorite).

The subtank has a better RBA in that it's easier to wick it so it doesn't leak.

The Crown is my all time favorite tank, but the RBA is not good - in my opinion.

Thanks folks. What's the opinion of the Kanger?

I would most likely stay above 0.3ohm with either.

Also the Melo 2..... any good?

Dom

edit: If I'm running a .5 or .4 ohm coil in the Crown, I should be fine with my iStick TC60W, no? The highest I've gone so far (.5 ohm) is 38-40W with the RBA, 30-35W with the stock EC coils.

Have you tried looking at the Aspire Triton 2? It's bulit like a tank and gives off the best flavor for me.

I'm relatively new to vaping and got hooked to buying more stuff for my setup. Yesterday, I bought a new Smok TFV4 Mini (the black one in the pic) and for me, it gives off a very strange taste from my juice (White Nectar 80% VG).

Build quality is not quite up there with the Triton 2. And I have to vape this thing at 50-55w at least to get any smoke out of it. Drains my eVic Mini's battery pretty fast with the Smok tank on. My wife's Kanger Subtank Nano gives off a better flavor over the Smok TFV4 Mini IMO. I've played around with the Clapton dual coil and the Sextuple coil and I got the same results.

Give the Triton 2 a shot, it's the best I've tried so far.

Last night I was looking for a spare mod and saw an istick 100 for about $26, I think Misthub through Vapecrawler.

Though every dollar counts, having 100w gives you all sorts of additional tank options.

If you dont want to get batteries and charger, you can find evic mini already upgraded to 75w in the low to mid $40s. Theres a big difference between what 60w and 75w can do with many of the mainstream tanks.

Thanks for pointing out the Aromamizer RDTA, looks like a great unit.

I have looked at the Aspire Triton 2, but the small 3ml tank is the deal breaker for me.

Thanks for the tips so far. I have to admit, that Aromamizer RDTA is looking pretty sweet.

I would like to avoid the larger mods due to the size. The TC60W works perfect for me size-wise.

I have the 40TC, and while I don't regret getting it at all, I wouldn't point anyone toward the 60w.

My 75w VTC just got even better today with it's 4th update in two months. (now with TCR adjustability).
I'd buy another before the iStick (I have 6 various iSticks).
Though I don't know the current pricing of either, I think the VTC is well under $40 for the mod.

The new Kangers look interesting as well, especially the 2 cell 120w.
I enjoy my i100, but... no TC and it underutilizes the 2 18650s.

We're about to be flooded with new releases actually. Choices, choices. :)
What brand is your 75W VTC mod?

I've decided to go with the Aromamizer RDTA. At home I really do enjoy my Mutation X V4, I'm hoping the Aromamizer is a decent compromise between a tank & a dripper.

With the Mutation I run a .4-.5 ohm dual coil, around 40-50W & it's been perfect for my DIY juice. I'm hoping to target the same for the Aromamizer.

I don't have a huge range of experience with tanks. But I just swapped my Subtank mini for a Herkales Sense tank. Wow...what a difference! Absolutely loving it!!

If you like the Herkakes from Sence you'd probly like the Crown from Uwell or the TFV4 from Smok...

If you're looking for something between a dripper and a tank, check out the Haze Dripper tank, clones are like $12 and work great. Thought it was worth mentioning.

I just wanted to update this thread. I've had my Aromamizer for almost 3 weeks now, and I'm very pleased with it's performance. I've been using it exclusively for the past two weeks.

The flavor is awesome, right up there with (maybe even better than) my Mutation X. Vapor production is very good, not quite as dense as the dripper, but satisfying none the less.

Right now I'm running dual 26awg NiChrome 80 coils at .6 ohm, around 45W and it has been flawless.

I have found the wicking to be very important to the overall performance. You want the wick to be fluffy where it contacts the deck, too compacted and you'll get dry hits for sure.

The only con I have is the anti-spit back drip tip. I find it tends to mute the flavor. Also, juice will pool up in the bottom of the drip tip, I found myself always cleaning the drip tip.

Here she is, topped with a Vicious Ant drip tip, sitting on my iStick TC60W.

Thanks for the tip on this RDTA, it fits me well.
