Hi and Welcome-
It would help if you would tell us what tank, mod, batteries and wattage you are using.

Yes that sounds about right- 80w is a lot and the tank will feel warm and you will use up battery life quicker at those wattages.
Plus you will be burning thru your juice very quickly too.
You may want to look for another sub tank with lower wattage ratings for coils for better battery life and will feel not as hot as the Crown III sub tank like the Freemax Fireluke sub tanks that use coils that will run at lower wattages.

FreeMax FireLuke Mesh Replacement Coil Features:

  • FireLuke Mesh Coil System
  • 0.15ohm TX4 Mesh Coil - rated for 40-80W
  • 0.15ohm TX3 Mesh Coil - rated for 50-90W
  • 0.5ohm TNX2 Mesh Coil - rated for 20-50W
  • 0.2ohm TX2 Mesh Coil - rated for 40-80W
  • 0.15ohm TX1 Mesh Coil - rated for 40-90W
  • 0.12ohm TX1 SS316L Mesh Coil . - rated for 400-550F - Make sure to use below 60W for TWISTER
  • 0.15ohm X1 Mesh Coil - rated for 40-90W
  • 0.2ohm X2 Mesh Coil - rated for 40-80W
  • 0.15ohm X3 Mesh Coil - rated for 50-90W
  • 0.15ohm X4 Mesh Coil - rated for 50-100W
  • 0.12ohm SS316L Single Mesh Coil - rated for 400-500° F

5000mah 80w ss crown 3
Heat could also be too much wattage for the battery.
Need more battery info, tell us exactly what battery..brand and model # or a pic of what's on the label.
80w is what your vaping at? or does your mod go up to 80w?
Also what mod?

Add the HorizonTech Falcon / Falcon 2 / Falcon King to your list of tanks that can also be used with reasonable quality type "mesh coils" at these same medium-high wattage levels. The Falcon M1 coil is a good example of such a mesh coil, and that doesn't degrade as fast, when compared to the vast majority of other factory premade, or "drop in" coils. Reasonable quality coils here = not the highest levels of quality that can only be achieved by DIY coil building on an RBA, both in terms of flavor performance and in terms of durability.

Speaking of DIY coil building on an RBA, the added cost resulting in the long haul from coils with comparatively limited durability is only one of multiple reasons why moving away from factory premade coils can be worth. Another, equally valid, reason, is that you also get the option to choose the kind of atomizer-and-coil(s) combo that is not only going to be tailored to satisfy your own personal preferences in vaping, but also lends itself a whole lot better for those particular styles of vaping─and/or chain vaping─that are bound to create problems of rapid heat buildup in a sub ohm tank (any sub ohm tank).

Essentially, at those higher wattages, either you can keep burning through packets of fresh coils rather fast or you can rotate between two or more vaping setups to vape one of them whilst letting the other one(s) cool down again. But the latter route is sacrificing on convenience/practicality of course so... if you're going to make this sacrifice, then why not bite the bullet and start learning to build an RDA.

That plus getting a decent quality, dual 18650 battery regulated mod─or dual 21700 battery regulated mod if you keep chain vaping a lot, or actually even consider a triple 18650 instead, just in case maybe it turns out later that you also want to bump the wattage up in addition to keep chain vaping, etc., and, IMO anyway.
