I know RJ loves Ramie and i have been looking around to find a place to purchase a small amount . I found this link given by another hard core vapor and it's a sample pack of a few different natural fibers but it does have Ramie in the sample pack for only $4.50 and it looks like free shipping.

Thought i would post it in case anyone is interested .

Fibers from the Field - Natural Fibers From Plants for Spinning Yarn - Sample Card
Allergies to wool or just plain want something totally different? Try some of these natural fibers from the field. There are natural and naturally colored cottons, hemp, soft bamboo, flax (linen) and ramie, all ready to use as is or to dye yourself. A mix of roving and top preparations, all of these fibers spin well. May we recommend our favorite natural dyes - Earthues - which come individually or in convenient color collections? 12 tufts of fiber to fell and spin.

Item Number: 2338700C
Price: $4.50

Side note : Looks like the Ramie is not in stock so hold off on this if you need it fast.

I am also a Ramie fan sir. Great taste, wicks well and handles the heat exceptionally well. If you want some to try I'll be happy to send some. I am going to order the sample pack you linked to try some of the other fibers. Enjoy the day!

FYI, before I settled on Ramie I also tried Degummed Hemp and Hemp Top Silver both of which I believe are in that sample packet. While I do boil and dry my Ramie before using it, you have to boil the living daylights out of the hemp products. Two to three times using two to three pots of water before drying. While both work they both have a "Woody" taste to them. The Hemp Top Silver is slightly better but still not what I am looking for in a wicking material.
