Need help building coils

So title says it. Needs some assistance please. I'm not the best coil wrapper so things don't come out perfect. Here's what I'm using:

Sigelei 150w Plus
2x Samsung 25R 3.7V 2500mah
Vapergate Alliance RDA
28g kanthal wire, Dual coil, 5 wraps each
.4ohms, 30W, 3.5V
Cotton Bacon v2.0
Max VG EpicClouds eJuice

Im having some difficulty building my own coils. I had a friend build a dual coil setup with 22g on an older RDA. I just recently got the Alliance and all I have is 28g. I feel that my issue is coming from the coil itself because on one of the ends, before the post, (on coil side, not a leg) glows red and causes some kanthal taste as well as breaks anything above 35W. On the old setup I was doing 75W+. If pictures are needed, or if I suck at explaining, let me know. Thanks for any and all help!

What kind of coil are you building, standard or micro? With a Standard coil, the wraps don't touch each other, and the spacing should be equal. With a micro coil, the wraps are touching each other. Most of the time, you need to use tweezers, or something, in order the squeeze the wraps, after you brought them to a glow. You repeat squeezing, until the coil(s) begins glow from the center of the coil out.

Once you squeeze and strum the coils till they are glowing from the inside out the coil legs will stop glowing.

Okay, so will squeezing the coils until glowing is even get rid of the fact that I can't vape over 35w?

There are many micro coil guides on youtube, watch them.
It's still not clear to my why you think you can't vape above 35W
I suppose because you have a hot spot you get a metallic taste which gets stronger as you raise the wattage.

If you prefer lower gauge but only have 28, you can always use twisted 28.

Don't touch the coil with tweezers while firing the mod, unless you have ceramic tweezers, that is!

28g can be a bitch to work with. 24 is sooo much easier to wrap.
