So I picked up one of the smok micro tanks that comes with a single coil Clapton 0.62 ohm

A coil was already built on the post I installed it on my smok nano 80w fired it up at about 40w to check and see how the coil glowed first couple times I fired it up it seemed to glow evenly but a lot of the information ive read says you wanna see it glow from the inside out. It looked like a couple of times after this it started to fire up from the center out and thought maybe because of how small the coil is this had something to do with it. I went ahead and put the cotton trough the middle of the coil. Dripped the cotton in juice and fired it up.

Its popping a lot I'm getting more flavor and harsher throat hit than the previous coil I was using which was the disposable .3ohm dual Clapton

Not sure if this is normal or not?

Try using a tad more cotton.

Yep, popping comes from air gaps between the wick and coil. Juice fills those gaps and it's like dropping oil in a hot frying pan, spatter!

Make sure your wick is snug in the coil, but not too tight.

something else it may have been is the wattage I was running it at. I have gotten comfortable at vaping my disposables .3 ohm at about 55w and that's where I was running the rca at. I also may have the cotton too tight through the middle of the coil. I did drop the wattage down to like 30w and it seems to have settled down some. I went on the smok site and it doesn't give a wattage rating for that particular coil but the dual Clapton is rated for 20-40w and has the same ohm rating not sure if that relates to anything or not.

The right wattage is what tastes good without burning the wick.

main concern was pulling more power through the battery than what it could handle

Ok, then at best it is 20A CDR despite what the wrap says. Those should be safe up to about 60W in a regulated mod, or 120W in a dual battery regulated mod.

If you need more than 60W per battery, LG has some 1500mah 30A CDR batteries. Sony vtc4s can be stressed to 30A, but would be best at 25A or less.
