Ok guys so far I have

All TFA
5% Pumpkin
5% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
3%Graham Cracker Clear
3%Whipped Cream
2%Malted Milk
1% Pumpkin Spice

I am trying to create a pumpkin pie blizzard from Dairy Queen but all I get from this is Raw uncooked pumpkin with spice at the end.

Find pumpkin very hard to work with. I use both the pumpkin and the spice like yourself. Did two recipes (one a pumpkin cookie, other pumpkin torte). Cookie I found to taste very much as your recipe described pumpkin wise, the torte was actually pretty nice but pumpkin very much a backnote. From my couple of experiments I would say 3% pumpkin and 0.5% spice just as the pumpkin flavours arent actually very nice and you don’t want them over powering, also maybe a sweeter cream to take the edge off the pumpkin a bit? I have just come to the conclusion a really good pumpkin pie cant be achieved with these flavourings…..ive admitted defeat

I have heard that about TFA pumpkin. I recently got some concentrated flavors from Nude Nicotine. One of them was their Pumpkin Velvet. People described the taste different in reviews. I found it to be a rich creamy pumpkin with spice. For a blizzard you may have to sweeten it up some. This is the best luck I have had with a pumpkin flavor, however their flavors are more expensive. The cheapest way to go is a 5 pack sample of 5 5 ml. Flavors for $11 if you are interested. Good luck on this.

This will be (literally!) year #3 of me trying to turn that flavor into something I can vape without gagging on the raw squash flavor. I will tell you what my 100 failures have taught me, and maybe it won't take you as long.
I'll save you vaping it standalone ( avoid that if you can) and tell you it's a flavor that trails. That is, you taste it strongly at the end of a leisurely exhale. That's what makes it so hard to work with. Most of the cream, bakery, and spice flavors that a reasonable person would choose to make a pumpkin pie vape trail off before pumpkin flavor does. So that raw veggie note penetrates everything else. Two things are important: to combine it with a trailing flavor that's sweet, and you must keep it much lower than 5%. In fact, take Pumpkin out of your recipe completely for a more pleasant development experience. lol - but seriously! Get everything else right, make sure a leisurely exhale is sweet throughout, then start adding in pumpkin just 0.25 or 0.5% at a time. If you can't add enough pumpkin before it tastes raw, you need more of your trailing sweet flavor(s). I'm having much better luck with this approach. Nothing delicious yet, but I can vape it without puking. Hey - a big improvement over the past couple years' attempts!

@HeadInClouds Hey sorry I posted under kuddleking but this is my account. Thank you so much for your tips and experience with this flavor. I'm very new mixing and I don't know, I think I chose a hard goal as a challenge to myself. Making a pumpkin pie blizzard Haha. Crazy I know considering I'm so niave to all flavors. I am going to take my time though and get to know each flavor separately as you have and maybe just maybe I'll attain my goal. I have read about you using FA amber to "bake" a fruit. Does it develop the pumpkin from something raw?

I found the pumpkin torte I made not too bad.....but Im guessing it was due to reasons HIC alludes to, lowering the pumpkin a lot more than cookie one I made, and it had lots of sweet cream and cake in it. It really was nothing like what you (or I) are after though as really it was just a creamy sponge cake and a mere hint of pumpkin at the end.....by hint you have to look out for it or you would never know :) Its a shame on these really as my mum is an AWFUL cook, but even she makes this lovely tasting pumpkin pie, would love to vape that

Not that this thread is too too old, but anyone have updates or success stories to share on getting a good pumpkin vape (blizzard or otherwise)? I have an older friend I'm trying to get off the analogs, and he's been bugging me for something pumpkin flavored.

@Vegita182 I finally have some worthwhile advice on your original recipe. Flush that TFA Pumpkin and use 2% or less of Nature's Flavors Pumpkin Pie instead. Even with no other changes in your recipe, I'll bet it's much more appetizing, and probably closer to that sweet DQ flavor. After you try that, you'll probably want to reduce the Whipped Cream to half the amount, too.

Would you say there's an actual pumpkin flavor to NF Pumpkin Pie? Or is it another flavor that has the spices the brain associates with pumpkin pie etc? Is NF's PP the flavor you would go with for pumpkin recipes now? Btw thanks so much for the info, it'll really help me help an older friend of mine get of the analogs! :)

Yes it has actual pumpkin to it - sweet, baked pumpkin, not those TFA chunks o' raw jack-o-lantern. It has some spice and crust to it, too. It tastes to me like a cheap-o bargain-bin pie by itself, but the flavors you already listed will add the touches it's missing. More important than that, no raw veggie flavor, flavor that's easy to mix with. one source: https://highdesertvapes.com/products/Nature's-Flavors-Natural-Pumpkin-Pie-Flavor-Extract.html Grab some!

You are the man! And I'll consult your Pumpkin Spiced Latte thread for the spices that go well with pumpkin.
