Need Some Advice

So, I've been making my Sweet Wild Berry juice for a few months now. Recipe I use is

Boysenberry by FLV @ 5%
Fuji by FA @ 3%
Shisha Strawberry by INW @ 5%
Sweetener by TFA @ 1%
Marshmallow by TFA @ .5%
Meringue by FA @ .5%
1.5% 100mg Nic in VG
83.5% VG

I make my main flavors in 240mL glass bottles. I just started making the Sweet Berry in 240 mL and have noticed that the liquid is a bit cloudy. When I look at my other juices, they're all clear. So I made another batch to compare and it was clear until about an hour later, where it took on the same cloudy look.

Is this normal (possibly a flavoring?)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the problem could be, if any, but I'll try making and see if I get the same results.

Could be chemical reaction of ingredients. Could be contamination. Might get more clouded might clear up with aging or steeping.

Thought of contamination, but have tried using different bottles of Flavor, switched bottles to flasks, and even switched the glove box I'm using.

I made another smaller batch, and it's clear until I shake it. So, I'm thinking it's some kind of reaction I just never noticed before.

You don't have to contaminate the juice or ingredients to have contamination. .... mold.. for one is airborne and every where.

So I made another batch (nic free) in my lil still and either the heat or constant turning (or the combination of both) turned it crystal clear after about 30min. Cooling it slowly to see if it stays that way.

Could be the sweetener was separating.
I think they make it using PG & powdered sweetener.
Some gentle heat usually does the trick.
You could try making a batch without tho for testing.

That very well could be it. I got some Cotton Candy I'll substitute.

So after 14 different batches, I've found the culprit to be Shisha Strawberry. Now it's odd, as VG with Shisha doesn't cause the cloudiness. However, if I take the Shisha out, the mix doesn't cloud up. Add it in and the cloudiness ensues.

I'm not sure why all of a sudden I am getting this reaction, as I've gone through half of a 16oz bottle and have had 0 problems. Again, if I add it to VG by itself, there's no issue.

After warming the mix with the Shisha, the cloudiness goes away.

I do keep all my flavorings in my mini fridge at 42°F and allow them time to warm up alongside my small bottle of Nic.

If anyone has any idea why this is happening, please let me know.

Thanks in advance

That is a strange one as I've never had issues with Shisha SB.

Sounds like a reaction between two different flavors.
Has it just recently started or just with this recipe only?

Could be the second flavor causing the trouble.
I'd be suspicious of the FLV Boysenberry, only because it's one I've never used.
The Fuji, Marshmallow, and Meringue I've never had problems with either.

Yeah it's weird, I've been using this recipe for a long while now and have never had a problem.

I did try without the FLV Boysenberry and on another batch with JF Boysenberry and still got cloudiness.

I've found if I lighten it up and mix it at 70/30, the cloudiness is almost non existent. However, it's still there.

I have literally opened up new bottles of everything and tried every combination i can think of. I truly don't know what's going on.

Might be a clue...
Have you changed brands of NIC or opened a new bottle of VG recently?

I'd try making a small sample mix with just PG, but use a big enough bottle to add the other stuff later.
Later on after determining the outcome add the NIC and check the results again.
Add the VG last.

But you probably tried this allready.

LoLz yeah I did try and by itself, clear. With straight PG and flavors, slightly cloudy.

I did open up a new gallon of VG while doing these tests that is from a completely different manufacturer and it didn't seem to effect the results.

I truly am completely confused. I spun up a batch of the only other juice I make with Shisha in it and no problems. So, I can only conclude that somehow, all of the sudden, I'm getting a weird reaction between flavors.

Ok, so I finally got around to mixing this up. Although I had to sub FA Marshmallow with OOO Marshmallow vanilla. Gave it a good shake, bubbles cleared, and it's crystal clear so far... How long did it take to fog up?.. Also, how long do you steep this lol? Smells good though!

It's clear till I shake.

You can shake n vape with this. Not sure if the marshmallow vanilla needs a day or two. But yeah it's quite amazing if you like a nice light fruit vape.

Ok cool. Also, I just remembered when I was trying to make a green jolly rancher (TPA green Apple and Fuji) it would fog up too. Usually took a day or two to clear up. Not sure why but I had narrowed it down to the green Apple... There used to be a thread on here called "Ask the Chemist". Not sure if he's still doing it, but it might be worth a shot if you're still interested.

Awesome! I will definitely check it out. I've literally got 14 10mL bottles, 10 30mL bottles, and 4 60mL bottles sitting in wait. All of them (different batches n combos) still cloudy as of this morning.

Thanks Again
