Need suggestions for a new sub $200 box mod PLEASE!

Yo! Fellow vapers I need some suggestions for a new regulated box mod. After updating the firmware on my alien 220w, it won't turn on anymore. Looking for suggestions for a sub $200 mod no less than 130w. Prefer 18650's but lipo is fine too. If I find something I love that uses my budget then cool but I'm also open to suggestions for 2 cheaper mods. Thanks in advance!

If you use TC, look at a DNA 200 or 250. Lots to choose from, more than enough power, and well within your price range.

I was going to recommend the Therion 166 for a dual 18650 mod and the Triade for a triple 18650 mod. I have threads for both mods and own them both (I wasn't sure if you were looking for a dual or triple 18650 mod)

At this point in the time, the Therion is my most used and favorite mod. It feels great in hand, looks very classy, excellent quality, and most importantly works great. Good luck in your search for a new mod. I don't think you would be disappointed in either a Therion or Triade. Personally I prefer dual 18650 mods, so I prefer the Therion.

I didn't add any DNA devices because you didn't say anything that indicated you wanted DNA as well as the possibility of buying TWO for under $200.
You only asked for REGULATED box and mentioned that you were using an Alien.

I'm extremely happy with my Therion 166 that I order another one (Black Frame and Snakeskin) from WNY Vapes. I love my Mod. I wanted the black frame to begin with but couldn't find them in Canada. My new one arrived at Customs today in Canada and cleared right away. I'll have it tomorrow. Can't wait. I currently have the silver frame with black leather door. An amazing device and loaded Steve's Ecig file puts it over the top. I strictly use TC now with SS316L. Vaping experience with a DNA is amazing. I won't be going back to watts. Def the best Mod I've used.

Sorry haven't been able to get on here the last couple days. I appreciate all the suggestions guys. I ended up getting a black Frame, black elephant, black carbon fiber inlay therion 166 for the house and a smoant battlestar to take to work. I've wanted a boxer for quiet some time and should have just got one cuz I also ended up purchasing a minikin v2, praxis banshee and a vapor flask stout lol. Only planned on the therion and smoant but the flask was $28 on vaporbeast today and would be good for a pocket/work device, the minikin for out and about and in the car and the banshee was an impulse buy and had great reviews. Now I have devices for work, home, car and backups for each. I really hated being stuck when my alien killed over and want to avoid that situation again. I loved my alien and it's been my favorite but too scared it'll kill over again: / I really bad want another though. I can't believe I bought this many devices, I've always been like "why the hell do folks get so many devices."

The files are for different DNA mods. Each one has in it 7 different wire profiles for TC, 1 for power mode, custom screens, custom theme, case thermals, mod resistance, etc. You would just use the file that is for your mod (Therion 166 in this case). It's just a matter of loading that one Ecig file and the mod would be completely set up. If you have any questions feel free to ask here, in the Therion thread, or shoot me a PM. Lol atleast I'm not the first to fall prey... beautiful mods, I almost opted for the snake skin myself. Considering another if I like it but some reason that boxer pulls me toward it, it's just alot of $$ for something that the therion does as well and looks better to most people. My next will definitely be another therion, triade or boxer. I dig the boss as well but geez they are high

What about a SX350J V2? I mention this as you mentioned a Boxer, and you already have a Evolv device, so why not go for one of Yihi's higher end boards?

Then again, I do really love the DNA200 and 75 (I don't own any 250's yet). I like the 200 enough to have 4 of them, and many people on here have much more of them than this.

When I think of dropping that much on one, I think well hell i can get 2 more dna; ) I do want to try the yihi tho. I'm starting to take to lipo alot more now too

If you are starting to like Li-Po's now, how about an Efusion/ Efusion duo?
It is my favourite Li-Po powered DNA200, I have the original Efusion but the duo comes with the option of using a Li-Po, or 18650's.

The G class is expensive, you could get a SX 350J V2 for a fair bit less, but if you like Li-Po's it might be worth going for a DNA200 with one, or even a DNA250 if that tickled your fancy?

If you are starting to like Li-Po's now, how about an Efusion/ Efusion duo?
It is my favourite Li-Po powered DNA200, I have the original Efusion but the duo comes with the option of using a Li-Po, or 18650's.

The G class is expensive, you could get a SX 350J V2 for a fair bit less, but if you like Li-Po's it might be worth going for a DNA200 with one, or even a DNA250 if that tickled your fancy?

A couple of things:
1. I like the Duo but it does have that box shape (no curvrs like some of the newer mods), it uses a DNA200 (the 250 has some improvements like 2 amp charging, built in reverse polarity protection - important when using 18650's, extra 50 watts which leads too higher amp output with a better bigger fuse). It's also just about impossible to find anywhere.
2. Yihi mods are nice as well nut the 350j V2 is two updates ago and it's still more expensive than a DNA250 mod. It offers no improvements, half the warranty, PFM in TC (rattlesnake effect). Now the the G Class is interesting but at $220, I could just about buy a Triade and a Therion. Even the SX Mini Q Mini is nice but it's $200,

In the end it's up to the OP. I personally think the DNA chip is superior because of a few reasons:
1. 1 Year warranty vs 6 months on the board (Yihi only gives you 90 or 120 days on the USB port)
2. Even the newest Yihi chips still use PFM in TC
3. I think Escribe is superior to the Yihi SX Qi software.

Like I said, I think the top end Yihi chips are great, I just don't think they are worth the premium you have to pay because Yihi basically enforces price fixing like Apple. Just my 2 cents.

Edit I'm editing this post to make sure I didn't come off too harsh. I do like the new G Class and Q Mini. They are just more money than I'm comfortable spending atm. The Boxer falls into the same category for me. Heck the Boxer comes in a 550J configuration that's $299.95 . It looks great but Damn.

All I was really saying was I wish Yihi would let the market decide the price instead of setting the price and being inflexible with letting their dealers run sales. I look for sales and I wouldn't have half the mods I do if all the DNA mods were $200 and up like they were when they first came out. In the end for me it's too many mods with not enough money Come on Powerball/MegaMillions

Once you're up in this range, I think it comes down to aesthetics, ergonomics, and individual taste. They all perform well even if taking different approaches. To my eye the G class is not appealing. I also am not a fan of the VT250 or Finder 250 designs. A purely personal opinion as some really like them. Much the same way as a Boxer holds little appeal to me.

The great thing about the market is choice, at all price levels. It's the threat of government intervention and suppression of new innovate products that worries me. I like seeing new stuff come out, even if it isn't something I would buy, as others (hopefully) will benefit from a new quality product being released.

1) for the alien make sure you loaded the unzipped file and the correct firmware. there are 2 versions. an A and a B. the B doens't have an update yet i'm aware of. the A does. those are the 2 common issues people have. reloading the firmware correctly should make it good as new

not too cheap but within your budget and great at temp control

Cartel Mods make quality products. Owner of several tube mechs and RDAs. I second the Revenant also, I'd use it more for the bypass (mechanical) function as I'm a dripper and bypass won't drain both batteries as fast. The great thing is; you can have a regulated or unregulated vape with it.

I agree totally about the Minikin! They are definitely amazing mods and have great touch screen response all while packing a powerful little punch at 180 watts and being that small! Here are my setups right now, and just so everyone knows anything is for sale! Plus most of the things I have I also sell new in our store!
