NEED TO KNOW IF BATTERIES ARE OK

Whats up guys, first thread, I have a pair of LG 18650HE4 35A 2500 mAh Batteries and have some 28g tiger wire coming in the mail. I've been seeing a bunch of warmings about it and having the right battery. I'm building on an indulgence mutation v4 with the matching mod. If you guys can help me out asap that would be great thanks!

Be aware that the HE4 (or most any other battery labelled or sold as 35A) is a 20A continuous drain battery, not 35A. So when gauging your builds for amp draw use the 20A figure.
You can use http://www.steam-engine.org to do the figuring. Use the Ohms law tab to figure the amp draw at 4.2V for different resistances. Basically stay above .2 ohms. Not hard with 28g wire and dual coils. You can use the coil wrapping section to get an idea how many wraps at what diameter to get to the resistance of your choice.

I think they use 26AWG in the occ coils. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it is. The RBA comes with 26AWG coils.

28AWG should be Ok too, it'll just be higher resistance for the same number of wraps. Spaced coils would be ideal. You get the right dimensions to fill the coil head and end up with lower ohms because of there being space in between rather than a compressed together micro coil.

Have you tried the newer vertical occ coils yet? Much better than the old ones for the way I like to Vape. Very happy with them using a 50VG juice at about 55W. :)

You have chosen some very good batteries by the way. I have a pair I use for my 0.22ohm and above builds. Using one right now in my Nemesis with a 0.3ohm build in a original UD Goblin (short tank mode). They last a good long time for me, very happy with today's Vape :)

28g works just fine for micro coils. You won't be able to do an effective .5 ohm coil in it like the stock coils with 28g and a single coil. The diameter of the coil and the 28g will call for higher resistance. Like NemesisVaper said the stock coil is spaced. That may be a better choice in this particular usage. Should you want to get down to the .5 of a stock coil 26g or 24g would be better. The stock use 26g with non-resistant legs to get to .5 I believe.

I think you're going to be in good shape as far as that wire and those batteries - the next question is do you have enough experience to know by feel when your batteries are dropping to 3.6V and need charged? If not, do you have a multimeter to regularly test them to make sure you don't over-discharge and damage the cells until you develop a feel for using them?

If you vape a cell down to the point vapor production is significantly diminished, you've already gone too far in most cases...

I do have an efest luc 2 way charger, stops charging when charged and has a volt meter. I don't have a screen on my mod but now that you mention it I do feel a change in power when the battery meter gets near halfway. I am somewhat new to the vape game. I've been around them, talked about them, always asking people for them, plus some of my friends give me some good knowledge. I finally got around to buying a kanger tech sub tank plus and a Kbox cause I felt annoying always asking for some ones. I have an indulgence mutation v4 rda with matching mod stick coming in the mail (that's what the tiger coils were initially for) but I didn't realize a single 28g coil can reach pretty high ohms, I was looking to build a dual coil running around .4 .5 ohms.

On a regulated mod, you'll get the same Vape all the way up until the mod cuts you off. There's no difference in Vape quality. That's the benefit of regulated. Power will Continually drop off on a mech as the battery drains.

Different people have different preferences as to how low they will drain a battery in a mech before charging. Personally I have no issue draining a cell to 3.2V. My regulated devices drain them to that level with safety. The art is knowing when you're at that point. Most of the time when I charge mine they're at around 3.4-3.5V, purely because at that point I feel like I want more power.

You're at the right place. This forum is a wealth of information. Both moderators and members will not hesitate to help you. It took me a while to actually notice Moderator status against peeps names, purely because, unlike some other popular Vape forums, the mods here are totally normal and unassuming. Makes a refreshing change.

You say you're using the matching mod to your mutation x. What mod is that?

I ordered the mutation x v4 rda with the mutation x mod. I currently use a kanger sub tank plus and k box. But I am looking for a nice dual coil around .4 .5 ohms. I appreciate all the help and advice from all you guys it's really a lot of help

Didn't know that they made a mech. Cool.

Some 26AWG kanthal, 7 wraps on a 2.5mm screw driver, dual coil should put you just over 0.4ohms and will Vape really really nicely on a mech. Ideal kind of coils to be starting with. That build will draw around 10A. Any 20A battery would be good (HE2/4, Samsung 25R and even the 3000mah HG2).

Sweet, thank you, I'll post a pic of it tomorrow, another thing how long will a coil last and how often should I change the cotton if I wanna keep my coil.

Dual 6 wraps of the 28g at 2mm will get you in the ballpark until you pick up some heavier gauge wire. You are more likely to get bored and pull a coil to try something else than to wear it out. How often you rewick depends on the juice and how you vape and of course how often you want to switch flavors. Just dry burn the coils before you rewick to burn the gunk off. Oh and be sure to pick up an ohm meter if you don't already have one.
