Needing some guidance and info please

Yo! New to the forum but not vaping and had a couple questions I couldn't find the answer to. I currently use the smok alien and almost bought the triade dna 250 yesterday but found the Lavabox DNA 200 for $90 shipped so I bought it cuz it seemed like a good deal. Then today I found the triade dna 250 for $113 shipped. Which is the better deal out of the 2? Which is the better mod? Can a dna 250 chip be put n the lavabox if I ever wanted to? I thought about getting the triade 250 since it's also at a good deal, don't really wanna spend the money though but keep telling myself it'd be good to have both since 1 has lipo and the other triple 650's. This is my first dna mod and just needing a little guidance. I really appreciate any help

Hi Apollo and welcome to VU, Not sure on those mods, but seem to be both are quite popular, I am sure our members will help you out with their opinions soon, Glad you found us!!

I can't say yes or no about the Triade (although many people love it), but I have a Lavabox. It's a great mod, but it only has a 900mah lipo, and it doesn't last long. You will always need a 2nd mod handy for when the battery runs low.

Personally I'd go with the Triade, better battery life. The DNA250 also has a few better options and you can fit bigger devices on the Traide than you can the Lavabox. Plus for me I much prefer 1850's over Lipo cause you can easily swap out 18650's.

If you've got the scratch get the Triade and either keep the Lavabox as a backup unit

Thanks guys! I have an Alien 220w and a little itaste kroma 75w kit that I just got for $10. Was gunna use those 2 for work and keep the nice one at home. I do like the 3 650's idea since the battery isn't the greatest on the lavabox without the extender pk. I know alot more dna 250 mods will be coming soon, was mainly considering the triade 250 cuz $113 shipped seemed to be a good price plus it's local and not coming from China

Might, might not. Best place to check on that is on the Evolv forums, not sure how the chipset is physically constructed.

The dna250 board is the replacement for the 200 board.
They both have the same footprint, and should fit fine. The 250 has some updated and improved components. I had a pair of vapor shark dna200s That had a board swap turning them into the new dna250 mods.
I also have a pair of triade 250s.
As to which one is better.... That depends on your needs.
The sharks have the 900mah lipo,(similar to the lavabox) which gives me 4-5 hours of vape time. The triade has the 3 18650s which gives me a day.
The shark fits in my shirt pocket making it perfect for running around town and at the office- I just top off the charge when I can and I'm fine. (2a charger in the car, at work and a small backup battery)
The triades need a free hand to carry it and can be a little cumbersome since it won't fit in my pocket.
Both mods are great and vape identical; since the board is the same, its all in what form factor is best for you.

I've already purchased the Lavabox in red cuz for $99 shipped I couldn't resist. It was after I purchased the Lavabox last night I found the triade 250 for $112.67 shipped coming from a neighboring state which seems to be a damn good deal seeing how it's even cheaper than the ones coming from China(gearbest, fasttech). I was only considering the triade due to price, 250 chip, and it using 18650s. Throw a vt 167 dna250 in the mix for $75 and it gets even more nerve racking lol
