Nemesis Mech Mod: Is it safe to switch the contact pins?

Hello!

My new nemesis clone is not producing as much vapor like my other mech mods and upon closer inspection, I noticed that the top contact pin isn't flat like bottom pin so I switched the pins and now it generates more vapor and I also noticed that the mod doesn't get really hot when I switched the contact pins.

Is this safe or not?

Thanks.

Here's what the contact pins look like:

if you are getting less battery heat and the contact pin fits snug like the other one than switching may actually be safer than leaving the stock one in there.

I would like to hear more opinion on this.

I'm vaping at .49 ohms (28 gauge single 5 wrap parallel coil). Batteries: LG HE4, SAMSUNG 25R & Efest Purple (The LG HE2 Re-Wrap)

I just did it yesterday on one of mine. The only problem I can see is that the top screw installed in the switch has a thicker head. Thus, it is just a couple of millimeters from the bottom of the battery. You could have problems with autofire if it is any closer.

Oh my god-my nemsis that had issues, no longer has now I have switched the pins. Its like magic! +1 for that, I didn't ven realise you could switch the pins, but it doesn't get hot in the fire button now like it did before. Thank you :).

Yep, my troublesome one is much better. Just make sure the screw-head fits right.

I wasn't really having problems with my nemesis, but I wasn't going to call the performance stellar either. This mod was given to me and it had some issues to begin with. The threads in the top half of the tube got pushed in somehow before I got it and the battery wrap would rub slightly and the battery would stay stuck inside the top part of the tube. I knew this was a safety issue, so I pulled the dent out but this made the threads near impossible to get back together. I ended up having to file the threads down where I pulled the dent out. I had considered switching the contact pins myself, but I didn't think it was a good idea because the bottom pin is shorter and I thought I would have to adjust my atomizers pin out too far. But after reading this thread I decided to give it a try. And wouldn't you know, I do think there is more flavor. And I did have to adjust my atty pin out a bit more, but its not as big a deal as I thought it would be.

The nemesis does have a bloody tight space to fit the battery, doesn't it? I have tried to label batteries before with a small square of paper and clear tape-even that was too much of a difference and the battery wouldn't fit! So permanent marker is what I use now.

Actually, there was no more tightness with the battery once I got the dent out. The battery slides in and out of the tube freely. The dent was on the threads on the top part of the tube, where it connects to the lower half of the tube, luckily those threads are external so it was easy to get the dent out and file the threads smooth. I just didn't like having to do that. I was and still am in a situation where money was tight, so I appreciated being given the mod but it definitely got dropped hard at some point. The battery charger I was given was also busted up. I tested it for shorts and it checked out so I used it, but only once and I did not leave it unattended and I pulled the battery as soon as the green light came on. I had already ordered an xtar travel charger so I was fortunate to only have to use that busted up charger once. It was one of those generic Chinese chargers with no protection circuit. Even if it hadn't been busted up I wouldn't have kept using it. I have too much going on in my life to be sitting around waiting for batteries to charge to make sure I take them out as soon as they are done charging. The xtar travel charger is excellent and I can charge batteries over night if I want to but lately I have been rotating batteries so when I take one out, I put it on the charger and vape with the other battery the rest of the night. I usually take the battery that's been charging off before I go to bed, but then I just throw the other one on when I wake up. Pretty soon I shouldn't need to rotate batteries. I do it with a mech for obvious reasons, but I'm getting a regulated device soon in fact it will probably be going out to me today. I also bought an LG HE2 to go with it, 20A 2500mah so the way I vape it should last me all day and if not its a pass through so I should be OK.

What I like most about switching the contact pins is that it's less adjustment for me when switching batteries. What I mean is this. I have two batteries, one is a flat top and one is a button. Using the flat top is no problem. But using the button, previously I had to loosen both the top cap and the bottom cap. Now after switching the pins around, I only need to loosen the bottom cap a little bit.
