I remember when it happened sitting in a staff meeting at work pagers went crazy with the news

Breazy sends it's thoughts and prayers for all those who lost their lives, for the families and for all of the first responders that helped and died or got sick after. May no one ever have to go through such a thing ever again !

I was there, a mile away, downtown. Had I not chosen to drive in that day, I would have been in the PATH station under the towers about when they fell.
Besides the attack itself, the thing I most remember about that day was the media. Every outlet panicked and tried to jump the next with breaking news (at least in NY). I heard radio reports from esteemed outlets with everything from teh Empire State Building to the UN to Lincoln Center being under attack. It was a day of shame for every single reporter, the day they all failed to do their jobs so horribly that the whole world knew it. I have not trusted, watched, or relied upon any news source for accurate information since.
