Hi everyone, hope you are all OK :).

This morning, a mech I had been waiting for about a month turned up, along with a pack of 12 vape bands (I actually like them, I turn them inside out for some of the messages though as I think they are dumb).

It is called an angel.

It is solid copper, and I am using a 0.7 single 2MM 26G coil. It is producing the same amount of vapur as the brass nemesis at arounf 0.5-6, and the stainless steel at a definite 0.5.

There must be much less resistance in this mod, allowing it to hit my topper much more effectively. I do not know if being solid copper adds in to this or not.

Well, here she is:

Laser engraved main body:

Stamped fire button:

All set up with the el cabron (favourite dripper along with velocity for mechs, and regulateds. Both are solid drippers):

I like this as insted of the nemisis style fire pin, its magnets, so it is so much smoother, and once I set it up no issues at all uncrewing/tightening.

A great mod for under 20 dollars that will keep me occupied, along with the Sig 150TC and Xcube new firmware :) for a week or 2 till the beast arrives (Hotcig DNA 200).

Nice

I have a copper mod Fetish one of the tricks to keep them looking nice and shiny is polishing them with Car wax or polish...
It slows down the atomic burning of the Metal so it does not start to Tarnish unless you like that type of Patina just a tip

I do like the patina on my brass nemesis, but I want to kkeep this one nice and shiny due to the engraving/etching.

I don't have car polish-but I do have Brasso (A UK brass cleaner, you can by it in a bottle or a tin, I have the tin and its a massive wad soaked in the solution, that should be OK shouldn't it? Or would regular polish work on it?

If it ages, it ages, but I would like to keep it looking shiny this one :).

Ohh sure Brasso will work but only to clean itit will not protect it from tarnishing any old car wax will work preferably not carnuba based as the heat will melt the carnuba

Ahh fair enough. I guess it will age naturally, I quite like the patina my brass nemi is getting so I may just clean it but allow it to get its own patina :). If I have any car polish in the garage I will use that, if not I don't mind the naturally aged look, and it wasn't super expensive (about £13) so I could even get another one if I really didn't like it, but as long as it does what I want well, I'm happy.

Very happy with the switch assembly. Do most mechs use magnets or do most use the nemesis style?

Very nice set up.
Thank you.

I have notice one really strange thing-the fire button has to be unscrewed almost fully, or it will NOT fire.

Now, I see no reason not to, as even screwed right in, it is making connection with the battery when pressed (thats what the indentations are for).

I tried taking the magnets out, and using a spring instead, and guess what? SUCCESS! It worked screwed right up. I then went back to the magnets, then sure enough, you had to back it right off again to fire.

I like the smoothness of magnets, but how the hell are they stopping it from firing when screwed up too high (fire button)?

I may just take the magnets out, and just use a nemesis spring, as that worked fine, nice and smooth as well, but I would like the magnets if possible.

I did a bit of research online, and found some info saying mods with magnets can have this issue, but there was no explanation as to WHY.

So, does anybody know exactly WHY using magnets would force me to unscrew the fire button more than using a spring, even though the battery is making just as solid a connection with magnets as with a spring, as the only thing being changed is the fire button return to off method.

The top is well set up, and connected great. I like it had dual adjustement posts at the top of the mod, one for the 510 pin height, then a screw within a screw that you lengthen to touch the battery. Never seen it before, and thought it was cool. :).

Just to make sure take it all apart bro and clean it with some alcohol.. Sometimes the Magnets are coated in machine oil and they will intermittently get contact other times they will not .. Also make sure any adjustments on top are making good contact with the battery.. I know this sounds anal but Mech Modds can be a Hella of a kinda bitchy

Ahh I did not realise this. This makes sense, as if I make gentle contact, it makes vapour, but not at full power, it needs a fairly firm press to make correct contact-I will try giving it a clean with lighter fluid later (Only solvent I have, I will make sure I rinse it off completely after lol).

Working much better now-machine oil was stuck in all the threads, wiping a tissue along the threads left black oil on it. I cleaned it with soap and water, thoroughly rinsed the soap off, while cleaning all contacts, and it works perfectly now, doesn't have to be backed off completely, there is still 4 more full turns on the screw before it comes off, before it was just on the last turn to work.

Even more happy now :).

Ahh cool man, what you work in? I'm not working at the moment, but I fix hardware issues on pc's, I'm doing my full training with cisco after christmas.

I'm 25, but as you know had problems when I was younger. I did attend college at the british academy of new music doing studio work, but I realise there is so many people wanting to do that I am better off doing the computer stuff, as I enjoy that too :).
