So I've been using the cheap stick pens for a few months and want to upgrade.

I will be ordering either a solara dna 30 or sx mini. Not sure which one, maybe someone can chime in about those 2...

As for tank, i haven't figured it out that far yet, as I only know about the tanks that go on my cheap pen vape. It's called a kangertech mini protank 3. Uses disposable coils, which are fairly cheap, but don't taste great.

So far that's it. I'll update when I order the vape (few days to decide).

I'm pretty new to the game also. as you, i started out with a pen. o_O i was a virgin and didn't know. i use the Aspire now but after about 3 months of tasting ceramic wicking material. i now twist my own coils with cotton. best upgrade i've made so far. I use it on the I-taste 134 gatling gun. hits quite well

Well, i got the solara dna, and a silo tank and coil (similar to nautilus).
I'm only able to vape at about 8 watts with this coil.
Saturday I'm going to get a kayfun v4 built, and then I'll be building my own things.

I'm picking up an orchid v5.2 any day now. It sounds like me and you may be on the same page. When you build your deck, post some pics? I have thread in this forum some where that I'm going to post some pics of my first build. I'm curious to see how you like the kayfun, as its been compared to the orchid rbta's a lot.

I have a few kayfuns that I use on occasion (I prefer kraken and steam turbine styled genesis rta's honestly). Best performance I have gotten out of them are 26g single coils wrapped at 1-1.5ohms at 12-17 watts. Flavor on the older styled kayfuns is a bit muted, and I haven't tried any of the new designs personally, so I can't speak for the flavor on them.

I have 0 experience with anything rda/rbta related, so any advice I can get for my first build is useful, although I have been watching tons of build videos. 26 guage should do me some good if I want good flavor from an orchid right? OR is 30 guage more for the flavor? I get confused because like I said its all new to me. I'm gonna run out to my local spot tomorrow and get some cotton and wire for when my orchid arrives.

Sorry for late update!

I threw away my tanks, they just aren't what I'm looking for.

I picked up some RDAs, the drippers. They work fantastic! Only drawback is you have to keep juicing every 3 or 4 hits.

As for building the coils and wick, it takes some trial and error. Watch a lot of videos because you don't want your coils blowing up in you face!

So I got 2 tugboat rda clones, less than 20 each. 26 gauge wire and japanese cotton, about 15 for both.

Now I'm building these flat spirals for other things ;)
