New Subhom Subbox Nano or Pico and Melo 3

Hi All: I wanted to introduce myself, as I'm new to the forum. Almost 3 years ago, I stopped smoking using a regular ego kit, soon there after, I moved to a CV/VV e-go style battery with a variable airflow tank... Stepping up to my current set up years ago to my Istick and Mini Aspire Tanks (Nautilus and now Triton Minis)... As time goes on and VG Levels continue to rise with many vendors, I'm not tasting my juice. While I'm not a cloud chaser, and the fear of the added cost of liquid and coils subohming kept me at bay... now I can no longer TASTE MY JUICE.... (I've done all to treat "vapers tounge" possibility, changed up flavor profile, drunk so much I could drown myself, you name it. A sub-ohm tank/ set up is the only option I've left to try... SO the ???? Ive looked at the Pico Kit (Melo 3) and the Subbox Nano (I'm 5' tall with teeny hands... so the setup I have fits comfortably)... I've read that the Melo 3 tank has "muted flavor" (opposite from where I wish to go) and the Nano leaks:(
Do you all have opinions on which set up, cost effective, would benefit these needs... I'd really appreciate the advice.

sub-ohm was the promised land for me. got me down from 50+mg of nic to 6mg. I vape and taste flavors that I never would have tried before because it tastes that good now. both of those rigs are IMO about half way to where you want to really be but I stuck with the Kanger for about 18 months until one day I discovered that wonderful little rebuildable atomizer that they throw in for free. Was able to get down to about 24mg on that single coil RBA.
That little RBA literally changed everything for me and it was off to the races to the rig I have evolved to now and happily vape all day at 6mg. I would strongly recommend the Kanger for someone just getting into this and don't throw out that RBA that comes with it. It can save you a ton of money over the long haul. :)

Ohh and while the pico (I own 3) is a fine device (with the right battery) FWIW I was given a melo tank for free with 1 of them. I tried it once and it promptly went in the trash....stripped of gaskets of course.

I use the Melo 3 with my rx200s and the new ECL .3 ohm coils at 50w and don't notice muted flavour.

So you didn't like the Melo 3 tank it came with? So go with the Nano?

OMG! I'm so confused! And still left in a quandary with this whole venture:(. The Pico seems like it MAY be a better choice because the battery can be used with so many tanks (I think?) The fact that it's so small, different tanks may, however, look awkward as they do on my Istick (size)... For this reason, I use Mini Aspire tanks because everything else seems as if it would look ridiculous. The Pico is even smaller.... Finances are also at issue and I don't want to be in a situation right off the rip where i need to look to find another suitable tank??? Umph ;(. The other way, a new tank wouldn't be able to go with the Nano set-up.... Can anyone tell me how the flavor is with the Nano tank??? Anyone have experience with it? I know 1 of you is content with the Melo 3 tank, while another tossed it immediately only using the battery... Has anyone had experience with the Nano??? With this sub-ohm venture, increased FLAVOR!!! I've stayed away from subohming because of the cost for so long.... I'm just unable to taste my juice because of the higher VG level now used by many vendors.... Vendors that I used with higher PG levels, with good flavor seem to have dropped the quality of their ingredients??? I'm blowing through coils because the juices have become"thinner". I never thought I'd change my main juice vendor, but my hand is being forced! I have tried EVERYTHING, including using other juice vendors in between and returning.... I've found some good, affordable vendors, but higher VG levels take away from the flavor.... taking this to a sub-ohm level is the ONLY thing I can think of to do???? Thoughts??? I'm not doing this for a cloud chasing experience... I'm looking for a better FLAVOR experience!!! I've decided to give this a try. I was sure I was going for the Subbox Nano, until someone brought up the Pico Option.... with this set up, coil and tank options seem to be interchangeable and readily available. I don't have that with the Nano? They both have pros and cons for the $ in kit form? Thanks for bearing with me. More advice is so very anticipated and I'd be so very grateful!!!

Whatever you do, don't give up. Start by trying the triton mini clapton coils in your nautilus. Melo3 works with many of the Aspire coils while the Ktanks have rba available. Another option is to get juices with double shots of flavor.

The subtank mini is pretty good. You could buy the subtank mini (with the rba) and the Pico mod. The is no reason they shouldn't play together. The Pico seems to fire to a slightly lower resistance and the rba section will give you the flexibility of higher or lower resistance. The only thing to be mindful of with the Pico is that the battery cap protrudes about 1 cm. so stick with 22mm to 22.5 mm diameter tanks and you'll be fine.

There are RBA heads for the atlantis/melo coil heads. Factory coils can be rebuilt as well.

That said I would go with the Pico.... I use kayfuns, Genesis tanks and drippers with mine. The Melo 3 is a OK clearomizer, I RBAs. Only use the Melo, which is running self made SS coil as a backup. I have some of the triton claptons coming in mail. So I can give those a try.

I like the Clapton coils but they are 1.8 coils in the Triton Mini.... I'm not getting an increased flavor by much, which is why I'm looking in the SUB-OHM direction... if I do go subohm, it's going to be with a kit a Subbox Nano Kit or the Pico kit which comes with the Melo 3 tank.... the Nano's, I don't think will come with an rba. I won't be making my own coils, which I know CAN be cheaper and make for better flavor.... it's just something I wouldn't ir couldn't have the patience to learn. The SSOCC coils that come with the Sub tank Nano, how'd you find them?

Question .... Do you all think I'll get a big flavor bump going from a Triton and Nautilus Mini tanks with 1.8 Clapton coils to say a Subbox Nano or similar sub-ohm tank?

I would consider the full size Triton 2, which can run many types of coils, the newer Atlantis EVO, and one of the Sense tanks like the Herakles Pro or Herakles Honor or V1, using the 1.8 ceramic coil.

These are all in the family of Atlantis compatible tanks, though not all are compatible both ways. There are long lists of these tanks, including Tobeco Super Tank, Melo, Starre, and many others.

Also, there are YouTube videos on all the vaping gear.
