New to DIY looking for a specific concentrate/flavour

Hi all Just joined on here after reading many great posts on mixing, I've been thinking about stocking up some supplies and getting into DIY a little bit.

It looks like chefs vapour is a good place for flavours in the UK and I'm going to start with some perfumers apprentice / flavour arts concentrates as they seem to be well recommended, I thinking of going with some fruity flavours first as from what I gather they will probably be the easiest to work with and get faster results (less steep needed), would that be a correct assumption?

I do have a small problem... One of the reasons I want to start is to find the perfect Elderflower Cordial mix (I usually make a few litres each year as I love the stuff) I have yet to find an ejuice even remotely close, the trouble is I can't find an elderflower concentrate, I know it exists as I've tried juices with it in. Does anyone have any idea's who sells an elderflower concentrate that would be suitable for vaping? has anyone here tried to mimic this flavour before and how did it turn out?

thanks.

I will look into reopening a TW account (closed mine years ago) to try that gold label would be nice to know for sure I can get more though if its a good flavour may still need to find an alternative source.

That's the thread that led me to chefs vapour :D will keep an eye on it though

Generally, many of the fruits require less steep or aging as compared to mixing up a custard. This may not always be the case, but from my experiance yes.

Once you get mixing and a few sessions goes by you will slowly build up your stock of ready to vape. My main goal was to have a supply that would last 2weeks. It was a good goal since I planned to mix every two weeks. Now that I have blinked my eyes I now have 4-6 weeks and that's the spot I'll stay at. I still mix every two weeks, but I'll always have stuff ready to go. And by that off chance, like this coming weekend I can't mix no biggie.

Happy mixing and welcome to DIY

Yeah, it grows in Europe only. I used to collect Elderflowers and make a kind of a alcoholic punch of it. A nice drink during summer time.

thanks all, nice to have other options for flavourings.

The elderflower cordial (wine, punch, cider, beer whatever you want to make) is an awesome summer drink really refreshing flavour and can be mixed with so many things to enhance that, the cordial though is also the single greatest sore throat remedy I've ever found.

I was actually considering trying to do it manually... its made by steeping a number of flower heads in a sugar water solution with lemon rind and slices for 48 hours before filtering and bottling. I was wondering how well the flavour would transfer to a PG/VG mix this way? I would have to find an alternative vape safe sweetener than sugar and strain it incredibly well but it might work and might be more likely to get the desired flavour than mixing concentrates.

Yes, I saw that it had medicinal value aside from beverage when I Googled what the hell it was! If you search the DIY forums Andria uses sweetener so she will give you some suggestions. If I see her here online I will point here to this thread or just give it a bump or two!

Good Luck!
