Hi,

Ive been vaping for over five months now and thought it was about time i started to rebuild my own coils. I bought a Prometheus. Second attempt i coiled a 1.1ohm coil and used cotton for the wicks. Id like to attempt a dual coil but found doing the single coil so fiddly. Someone suggested i use mesh but to be honest i havent a clue how to do that although it does look easier. Im finding it really fiddly trying to get the wire under the screw so it will actually stay under tight which makes me a bit nervous about doing a dual coil. Im getting a lovely intense flavor from the Prometheus with no leaking but just not enough vapor which i love! Any advice would be welcome thanks. :)

Some people build their dual coils in what's called a 'sleeper' setup. This means that the lead going through the positive hole is a solid piece of wire connected to the other coil. This gives less voltage drop, but also means you have to wrap a coil while the wire is halfway on your device.

I wish I had some good advice for you, but the best I can offer is don't give up! You'll get better in time, so just practice a bunch. When learning to build coils, it's a good idea to get plenty of wire, so you can run through some tests while learning.

Hope this helps! <3

Those of us that have been building for a long time remember your situation quite well. In the case of some, there just were not but a couple youtube tutorials and it was purely try and try again. Best bet is to troll the video tutorials and try them all!

Would it not be easier to learn to build on something non-genesis style?

I would think the wide open spaces of a Genny build deck would be better than the cramped quarters of an RTA. An inexpensive RDA like an IGOw would be another good idea, keeping in mind that dripping is not for everyone of course. But my thoughts are, if you can set up a Genny well, you can pretty much build anything.

Thanks for all your advice, my Brother has a Kayfun Lite V2 which he said is easier than the Prometheus. Have had a look so i might invest in one until im confident enough to go back to the Prometheus. Have been trolling for videos and found a few good ones, like looking for a needle in a haystack!! Will post back when ive had a go on the Kayfun. Getting single coils off to a fine art but dual coils for me are where its at. Will be a happy lady when i get that right. I like the vapor!! :D
