Newbie needing help and guidance.

Here is my situation. I am new to vaping, its been 5 weeks since I started and have not had a cig since then. I am currently using an iStick 50w with a horizon tech tank. I also have a Dark Horse RDA but I just don't get flavor out of it so, I do not use it often. I guess I don't get how people are loving the flavor from drippers when my tank just tastes better (again I am new) I should also mention I typically vape around 40watts with my set up. I also built a mech mod for a back up. (the kind everywhere online with the dual 26650 and hammond box)

My question is this: What is a good flavor recipe for my set up. I am not big into real sweet stuff and thus far haven't tried a whole lot of flavors. My favorite at the moment is Bonzia - Why So Serious as well as Cosmic Fog Lost Fog - Streak. I didn't mind Milk Man but it was almost to sweet for me.

I see so many different flavors and brands, its confusing. Then I see some flavors burn to hot if subohming. Is there something that can help a newb get into this or is this just trial and error until you find something you like? Are there recipes where I can buy all the stuff from one site?

Also what nicotine do you recommend? Right now I am at 6mg but would like to go to 3mg

im fairly new myself compared to some of the vets here.

If you're going sub ohm, high VG (60/40, 70/30) liquids prob good idea. 3 mg is about as high as I go when subohming. you may not notice a huge difference if you use 6 though.

If they are burning hot, is your airflow open or tight?

If you want to go DIY id say myfreedomsmokes.com , bullcityvapor are two good sites to order from that Ive had nice service from. You need to buy a nicotine solution, a bottle of VG, one of PG....then buy some flavorings, which are cheap ($1.50 on up to $4 or so per bottle)
