Newcomer, temp question please

Hi all, I'm pretty new to vaping, having given up tobacco a few weeks ago and a couple weeks ago getting into vaping. I bought a kangertech kbox mini and so far all is good, but I have a question regarding the temperature control. Forgive my ignorance, but I know the temperature control is only to work with certain coil materials. And I just have the standard coil that came with it right now, and they said it was NOT made for temperature control. Ok, so that's fine, but I was messing with the kbox and I switched it over to temp control mode and in trying to go back to wattage control I changed the temperature accidentally. Can't remember what it was originally set at and I was just wondering how all that works and what is the best range of temperature to use it on without any special coils or anything? Thanks a lot and don't be too hard on a noob!

I don't have a kanger anything but I can give you a basic rundown of temp control... First temp control will only work with nickel, titanium, or stainless steal but not all temp control mods will work with all three almost all of them will work with nickel. Temperature can very depending on your coils and how much Vape you want usually anywhere between 300-500 but sometimes even 600 but I'd say on average around 400. Some mods also let you adjust the power it's pulling to get to desired temperature in either joules or watts depending on the company. I'd suggest watching videos like the poster above posted or search on YouTube for your exact mod. Good reviewers are grimmgreen, vapingwithtwisted420, vapnfagan, Mike vapes, pbusardo. There's also plenty more great reviewers but t those are the best that I could think of off the top of my head. Also I'm not a big fan of temp control

If you are using a standard Kanthal coil, whatever temp you set it to will have no effect on your vape. In order to use temp control you need to attach a nickel, titanium or stainless steel coil. Once you have done that you can set your temp, wattage, lock your resistance and then vape away. In all honesty, I would avoid temp control for the time being and hold off until you have more experience.

Hi Chatham, take out your coil and it will be printed on the side the best range the coil will work on. Put coil back in and start at the low end hit your mod a couple of times. Keep walking it up about 5 degrees at a time till you find the sweet spot for you. Just don't go over the high end. Hope this helps. Larry
