Nicotine reacting with FW Cranberry?

Despite mixing with it before, I've never noticed this issue due to lack of a side by side with a nicotine free liquid.

I used FW Cranberry in a mix for somebody, two bottles, one 3mg and one no nic.
After finishing I noticed the nic bottle was yellow but not the other. odd. I remixed. Same thing again. wtf.

One more try, I added the flavors and pg, and they were both clear still. ok, that is good.
Added the nic to one and watched as it slowly turned yellow. hmm...never seen that before. FW Cranberry is a yellow concentrate, but the nic free mix remained clear.





It isn't the nicotine either, it is definitely a reaction between the nicotine and one of the flavors.
I have used all the flavors in other mixes today except for the cranberry and none of them turned yellow when nic was added, so that leaves a reaction between the nicotine and FW Cranberry.

Any thoughts?

That's just plain weird, I don't know, can I ask what nic are you using

It's not the color of the nicotine itself, I mixed a few other things for the same person and both the nicotine and nicotine free bottle remained clear.

Vapertech is great nic I think you are 100% right, have you sampled the juice?

I have, and it does taste fine to me aside from the odd pg after taste due to it being 40% pg.
I guess I'll just let the guy know that they are different colors due to a reaction.

Tried a google search for info, but the only thing that came up (besides this topic) was one post on redit from 6 months ago where somebody else mentioned yellowing when nicotine was added to FW Cranberry. The only reply said that nicotine is reactive with a lot of things and a reaction with something in FW Cranberry may have resulted in the creation of Acetic Acid

That's wild. I've only ever used TFA Cranberry.

I've had a few that were clear when mixed but turned yellow/gold after a week or so.

Never had any do it right away tho.

Hangsen Grape did that also. I thought it was cool when I watched it changed color.

I've had that happen with some flavors. If it tastes good, vape it!
