After another hiatus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returned with the introduction of another classic TMNT character -- Muckman! Here, the garbageman Garson Grunge got a surprisingly similar origin to his '87 counterpart, with Bebop and Rocksteady pouring mutagen out of a window that then landed on him. Not surprisingly, the gruesome twosome were fed up with being Shredder's errand boys, which offered some good humor throughout.
While this episode was mostly a freak-of-the-week episode, it was nice that Bebop and Rocksteady's mission loosely tied in to acquiring "Reagent X" for Karai's mind control. And "The Noxious Avenger" didn't waste any time in getting straight to the action, with the Turtles showing up to foil Bebop and Rocksteady's plans. Also, did anyone notice Rocksteady's new hammer and sickle weapons? A nice visual reference to the Rhino's Russian origins.
