Waiting on a house I'm buying and vaping on my new mod with velocity rda. Love this thing. The fda has convinced me to make sure i have some mech in my collection.

And the NC is cheap enough, there is no reason not to have two or three as backups

I'm still hoping for a stainless version. Don't like aluminum mechs. For the price though, I'll still get one soon hopefully.

Jaybo said he was coming out with a solid copper version, but never did. And as busy as he is supervising all the Wismec stuff coming out, I doubt he will ever have time to.

YES, if they could figure out a simple adjustment to the firing button to give it a lock (plenty of ways to do it) and made it with some higher quality materials I'd be willing to spend a good amount on one. But, that said even with the aluminum at the price it is it's easily one of my best vaping purchases.

Ohh yeah still no lock.
Just live life on the edge. Carry it in your back pocket!
Well you can always just flip the button and screw it in upside down, but that can be a PITA if you just wanna get a quick puff.

Copper would be dumb. Stainless would be ideal. Durability would be outstanding and the lower level of conductivity would be welcome to most. I understand lower voltage drop being desirable with a single battery mech, but for a series box give me stainless.

The case material is not of much importance in conductivity in the case of the NC. A brass rocker bar in the bottom and brass top cap and all is golden.
A stainless top cap is no real issue since the switch is right beside the atty.

In a tube mod the negative current path is all the way up the tube body not so in the cricket only 1 inch or less thru the top cap from the switch to atty. One thing that makes it hit hard.
Well that and being series :)

I can actually tell the difference in voltage drop (or at least I assume so because nothing else makes sense) between my Lucifer and NC, but with the builds I use my NC is perfect, my Lucifer is actually a bit heavy initially until I drain the batteries some. A copper one would look very elegant, but a SS would fit me perfect with the toppers I like for it. The Aluminium matches what I use well enough, but I'd love the durability just to be secure that this mod will last me a lifetime (no issues with the one I have so far, but I know it's a possibility).

Never said it was. I only mentioned conductivity because I was replying to the inevitable, yet to be made comment about how ss conducts less than aluminum or copper. With this mod it doesn't matter. It's gonna hit plenty hard with any common mech material so using soft, dirty aluminum or soft, dirty, stinky copper isn't what I would prefer. I understand using aluminum because it's cheap, easy to machine and very light. Using copper is just dumb. I'd actually prefer a cricket that was all stainless. Every single part. Quality, well machined stainless???? It would hit like a damn truck and last for a seriously long time. As it is, seems like a throw away after awhile.

Got the upgrade kit for my NC's, nice. It brought them out of storage and the tube they include with it makes a very nice little tube mod.

With that said though I got the VCP, that is one hell of a good series mod, I really love it.

At less that 15 bucks a pop, who gives a shit what it's made out of. Are you wanting it to be a family heirloom? And the upgrade kit is for kooks only.

That less than $15 a pop will likely go away soon though :(, and yes I am a kook.

I'm not talking about a disposable $15 mod. I'm talking about wanting a non disposable, higher priced, higher quality piece I can rely on for years. Douchebag.

For a simply outstanding series Mod, check out the VCP, love that little beast.

And yes, he's a Douchebag

Hey, at least you recognize that. ;) I would feel the same way if I bought an "upgrade kit" that cost more than the mod lol.
Kinda like buying a F250, adding in all the nice things and have to have's and suddenly you have a $60K truck!

They are worth the money. I'm using mine with a Twisted Messed squared atty. perfect for it with dual claptons at .6 Ohms.

The Cricket is a nice little mod, and at the price it costs everyone who wants a series mech should have one. Its well designed, well made, looks good, hits good, and blah blah blah. For $15-$20 its a hell of a value. Im one of the "kooks" who got the upgrade kit, and imo that is worth it too. It makes the connection better and easier to remove the atty and the connection from the mod, and makes the button smoother and more stable. Fuck, why not? For about $30 you get a solid, well made, perfectly functional series mod. Theres nothing not to love about it.

And I must be a super retarded kook because not only did I spend the same amount of money on the upgrade kit as I did on the mod itself, I bought an authentic Dotmod Petri V2 with a Dotcap and Cloudcap to put on top of it. Yea, I got a $140 RDA set up on top of my $15 mod with the $15 upgrade kit. Hate about it.

I think the upgrade kit is worth it for the new pin type 510 connector if nothing else.
You can use anything on that vs the hybrid style topcap that comes with the cricket.

Cricket is an awesome series mod. To me it has been reliable and easy to work with. Silver one has tendency to accumulate black gunk in treads, but none of the black ones does it. Switch and cap clean up easy just by wiping treads with paper towel, shirt or anything else I have at hand. Never had to tighten it down with a coin. I put the cap on the atty and screw it down tight, then screw those two into the mod and the hand tighten the switch. Usually carry it in back pocket or .45 cal. double stack magazine pouch. No misfires so far. Smallest and lightest dual battery mod that I have so its constantly going around with me. it is the best buy on the market at this point imo. Totally underpriced. Have silver and black one, and two black ones on the way. That black finish doesn't peel or scratch. Silver is easy to scratch. New ones have knurled switch. Well worth buying.

I like it because it makes it a lot easier to remove the atty from the connection plate/disc/whatever, and its mildly easier to remove the plate/disc from the mod itself since it sits up above the mod instead of flush or counter sunk into it. The button is hit or miss. It does have a smoother throw because of it being magnetic vs spring loaded, but it seems to "misfire" just as much as the spring button. You still have to push it right on the right spot for it to make the connection (at least on mine it does.)

But I have a lot of series mods now. The Cricket, a Hammer of God V2, a Lucifer, and an authentic MCM Underground. The $15 Noisy Cricket functions about 85% as good as the $160 MCM Underground, but costs more than 10 times less. You really cant beat it for the price (though I fucking LOVE the Underground box)

I think the Crickets just do not cost enough to suit some people.
Oh that's not it, they're a good mod so it's perfectly fine to add a nice, very inexpensive upgrade kit. That and with the included tube have a great little tube mod, can't really go wrong.

I'm one of the kooks who bought authentic Petri's. If I try a clone and like it, I often do get the authentic just as a thank you to the designer.

And all I said in the beginning about this shit was "it's not for me", pertaining to the upgrade/neuter kit. I did not throw the first stone, and I'm not "easily heated". But if you persist in hurling insults and calling me a douchebag, and especially when a chickenshit piggybacks/ratpacks an insult, of course I'll respond with an appropriate suggestion.

All the people here? He supported his assertions just fine. It is pretty kookie to buy an upgrade for something that costs more than that something to begin with. Asking for a better quality/material version of a $13-15 device is pretty silly too when if it does wear out after a few months you're just a few dollars from grabbing another. There are of course counters to these things, but they're sound enough reasons to not get panties this twisted because someone has a differing view.

Simple, it's a very nice design and with the very inexpensive upgrade kit you resolve one of it's major limitations and not have to worry about having a protruding 510 pin. Plus you get a tube that actually gives you another mod.

So both of these reasons are more than enough especially with the FDA ban coming down on us.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is just a colloquialism or "figure of speech". I used it in a semi self deprecating or conciliatory manner to appease the knuckledraggers and hopefully move on from the mutual insult hurling. Yeah, I know, Good Luck with that one.

Apparently having a differing viewpoint on a product, and stating them, will provoke personal attacks from some of these assholes. And obviously I have not reached a point where I can just ignore them without punching back. Pretending to "ignore" me is one thing, but repeatedly urging others to ignore me also is just chickenshit and gives an insight into the mindset of a toy robot and doll collecting freak.

I have heard, though don't know from personal experience, that there are drinking establishments that cater to alternative lifestyles and dress. You might very well be able to satisfy your fantasy of "some bright pink tight spandex thong panties and youre a dude" at one of them. ;)
