Noob - rda tastes like gym socks

Hi,
Just completed a dual coil build with 10 wraps 24 guage kanthal at .42 ohms and it tastes like I'm vaping sweat. I did a scottish roll wick. Vaped at 50 w

Have you cleaned/washed it properly before use? I usually drop it in my ultrasonic cleaner w/ water and some dishwashing detergent, then give it a good rinse, in order to get any machine oil off.

what rda is it? try to get it so the sides dont hit the inner walls. thats why ya got them darker spots on the right tails. not a big deal though so im with the others on washing the gear before use.

2. Wash that atty, so it doesn't stain those wick tails
3. Position the tails so you don't wipe inside of the barrel with them.

Its an el diablo hellboy. So by inner wall do you mean the collar that slips over it or the coil rda? I was using cotton balls that I boiled so probably a combination of the two so I will get cotton pads.

I used cvc cotton balls & boiled in DW.
Since drying in humid florida took hours, i became paranoid about Mold spores.
Really, use the organic cotton pads. Easy to cut, shape,,good taste too..

Stop sucking on your socks! It makes your breath smell real bad.

As said above, make sure everything is clean, including yourself. A lot of folks don't like cotton wicks, with the same complaint as you. You may wish to try rayon as a wick; cleaner tasting.

Big rayon fan here. So as mentioned before, make sure your hands are clean. With rayon, make sure your hands are SUPER clean. Otherwise, it'll taste like gym socks that the whole team wore. Twice.
