Welcome to VU

What juice, coil & ohm are you using, and how often are you using it? My wife's juice turns dark, but she goes thru 2ml a week, so juice gets exposed to burnt juice fond and weeps back into the tank discoloring it. As long as it doesn't taste burnt, is OK. Also could be nic oxidizing from the heat.
The tank is only 4 parts, so a quick swish & soak with some Dawn, clean water rinse, and a blow off with a compressor or air dry.

If you feel the need to clean the coil, just give it a soak in plain Vodka, then rinse with water and then dry.

Do not use Dawn on the coil... you will forever taste soap.
You need to rinse better. Been using dawn to clean atties and coils for years.... have never tasted soap.. that wasn't due to juice flavorings.

Agreed, dawn works for me and I don't taste soap either. (maybe it's my tastebuds? idk). A light wash, thorough rinse and dry, a few pulses of the coil before rewicking and all seems to be well. Some juices tend to burn wicks more than others, they're just more prone to gunk things up. For instance I can vape wrecking ball (banana flavor) for days without doing much to the wick. After a day or so of vaping flavors like vanilla cola, dark/gunked coil.

Given the way I saw rubbing alcohol eat seals and plastic tanks I've stayed away from that when it comes to cleaning vape stuff.
