Nothing but burnt hits on Crown

So I just recently bought a Uwell Crown and the Sigelei 200w Fuchai. I've gone through 2/3 of the coils (No Ni coils were in the box so I can't try TC) the Crown came with and not one of them is able to handle anything past 50w before getting utterly burnt hits.

Right now i'm on the last .25 SS coil and it's already burnt at 60w.. I started them all around 40W and vaped half a tank, maybe a lil more, before i started increasing it by 5-10w until i got up to 60w, then 70w, it'll be fine for about 5-8 hits of 2-3 seconds at most.. Then it gets super burnt, and as soon as i get a burnt hit if i go back down to 60 it's horrid, 50 it's okay but has no more taste of the juice it's just.. i don't know how to even explain what it tastes like.

My juice is only 70vg/30pg and 6mg nicotine.. I tried the crown on my Cool Fire 4 plus at 60w as well, it seems fine but at 70w it starts getting burnt on that one, what's the deal? I've had other tanks before and never had this issue, i'm completely new with the Crown and it's really depressing I'm already about to be out the 3 coils it came with in less than 36hrs.. I've bought a TFV4 and i'm awaiting it to come in the mail hoping it'll be way better, but I'd really, really like the Crown to work.

How did you prime the coils? The Crown coils take a rather different way of priming:
When I got it, the first coil it came with already inside the guy at the store primed it for me, it was fine until i started cranking it up, it actually survived at 80w for probably an hour before it just completely turned horrible.. The 2nd one I saturated it pretty good, just like in the video, i kept feeding the cotton juice until the sides looked moist, then i still gave it a bit more until it started taking a while for it to soak up anymore, that one didn't pass i think 65w? And the last one i have in now, i basically did the same as the 2nd.. Idk if i just have horrible luck with the ones that came with the crown in the box or what. I won't have any new coils until Wednesday most likely so I won't be able to try again.

Even when you prime them right I tend to wait a day or two before I start bumping up the wattage. And I use 50/50 juice. Personally I find that they don't handle the higher wattages as advertised. I vape my .5ohm coils at 45 watts max. Any thing more and Its dry hit city. The vapour production and taste is great and they typically last about three weeks with two or three tanks of juice a day.

Yeah idk.. This is the only tank I've had so far that I've had troubles with on the coils.. I saw so much good about it and decided to give it a go, probably should have stuck with my first instinct and taken the TFV4 lol. I know the TFV4 is going to destroy my juice but I won't be vaping on it 24/7, i'll stick to my iSub Apex for that. The reason i even took the crown was because I wanted to see the potential of my 200w mod, and give 90-110w vaping a go.

I never have experienced a burnt Crown coil .25, probably have gone through 10-15 of them. Man I do the slow break in, 1 week and fire it at 60-70W all day long and occasionally hit at 100W. You have to be doing something wrong or you got some bad coils. Good luck, personal opinion don't give up on the Crown.

Am I wrong or did you say they were stainless. Should be temp controlled if you are using stainless.

They swing like a pendulum do, they can be used either way, for me power mode works the best, Crown .25 and .50 are SS but they have nickel leads, so TC can be trying.

Ok I don't tank. I just figured temp control was the way to go since its stainless.

Don't get me twisted I love the Crown for what it is but ya. Tf4 will do better at higher wattages IMHO. Or RDA claptons lol.

I don't use my Crown coils in TC - just in regular power mode. I use the 0.25 coils between 60 and 70 watts.

Just putting juice in the sides isn't enough from my experience. Do try it like he shows in the video above before you give up! I start mine at 30 watts, and work up in 5 watt increments over about 15 minutes or so. I've been through many, many coils - some are better than others, but most of them I get 60 mls from.

Some people like SS and TC, for me Nickel is the only way to go with TC.
I only use nickel as well best flavor, best heat, and that's it for me. I tried using Ti but it just doesn't taste good. My problem is now that I've been using Ni everything else I taste the cotton. Idk maybe its just me.

A brand new Crown tank, in the box, should come with a Ni200 0.15ohm coil, an SS 0.25ohm coil, and an SS 0.5ohm coil. If this was not the case, I suggest you check the Authenticity sticker and make sure it's not a fake. I find it odd that you said it came with no Ni200 coil.

SS can be used in both Power and TC modes, and I find it performs better than the Ni200 coils, in both coil longevity, and flavor/vapor production. I don't ever experience a break-in period (maybe 5 pulls and it's good to go), although I only use them in TC (SS at 550f @40W / Ni200 at 500f @ 30W-35W). If you have an SS TC capable mod, I'd recommend trying it in TC and seeing if it still happens.

I feel bad for you, I love my Crown, and am saddened to hear yours is a dud so far.

I have the Crown & I will tell you they are their own animal when it comes to priming & breaking in. I like to vape at 45-50 watts with their .5 coils (I don't have TC) & it takes me at least half a tank before I ever hit 50 watts. I have to start at 20 & go up in 5w increments with hard, short pulls until I can get the flavor & vapor I want. It was a PIA in the beginning, but I do like the setup enough.

Crown's came in two different configurations as far as coils are concerned, 1 .50, 1 .25, 1 .15 / 2 .25, 1 .50. Depended how the vendor ordered them for stock. Ironically the new .2 SS Rafale coils come with suggested Watts to use, no reference to suggested temp. Seems Uwell lets people know they are not made for TC, not that people will use them in TC. Power mode works much better for me with either coil, Crown or Rafale.

So I just recently bought a Uwell Crown and the Sigelei 200w Fuchai.

I have this same set up,prime and start your coils like the video shown.(start @ about 20 watts and work up from there)Sounds funny but it works. It takes about 1/4 to 1/2 tank to break these coils in.At first you will get a funny taste until your coils get broke in.(not a burnt taste, but odd taste)Make sure your tank and coils are authentic, you may just have some bad coils. You may want to buy a different pack of coils and see how it goes.
The dual parallel .5 coils are good from about 45-65 watts and the dual parallel .25 coils are fantastic from 50-80 watts, this tank doesn't even get started making much flavor under 40 watts. Some people report getting 2/3 weeks out of a coil,I get about 4days to a week.(I vape alot)Refill your juice when it gets down to the top of your coil.

Forgot to mention that I use 70vg juice as well, just keep you hits to around 2-3 seconds.I notice when I run 80vg juice and try to take 4-5 second hits I'll burn my coils up pretty quickly at higher wattages 70-80 watts.Remember when first starting your coils take short puffs 1 sec or less.
