Odd cotton burn with squonker rda

I've an issue (or maybe it's not) with my rda, the cotton seems to 'burn' on odd ends. It's effecting the flavor. I'm running a regulated mod at 75w and using alien coils.

Any idea what could be causing this? It's giving off a burnt flavor and I'm having to replace the cotton every few days and this has happened over several pairs of coils.

I don't think that's burnt cotton—it looks like oxidized nicotine. If it were burning, it wouldn't start at the ends further away from the heat source. I've had certain juices–commercial and DIY–that do it, but not sure exactly why. You could try giving the RDA a good cleaning as it may be absorbing some oxidized juice from the bottom of the juice well.

Epic Cloud Donut Pounder does this as well. Generally right about where the airflow holes are in the RDA. It gets gross but still taste awesome.

Zooming in on your pictures kind of looks like one side of your coil is getting hotter than the other or is crudding up faster. I cant zoom well enough to tell but it kind of looks like that from what can be seen.

having to replace the cotton every few days is NORMAL.... If it burning it's due to too much heat and not enough juice..... use more or less cotton in the coil..Or less wattage or squonk more.. Tasting BURNT is usually a good sign of burning. Discoloration of the wick is also normal , oxidation of nicotine and sugars, but can also result from burning.

Yep, plus thinning the tails and the tails should just hit the bottom of the deck, maybe just a touch longer.

Always remember for the most part less is more
