it has been a while since i did Diy but with the recent @fucktheFDA news i am going to re-enter that area.

i have already ordered my preferred nic base 100mg which i opted for a 30/70 blend pg/vg Nude nicotine extended shelf life v2

i plan to use Vg base flavorings or others. my profile of late has been fruity.
im working on a clone of naked lava flow (coconut, pineapple, strawberry)
and maybe others.
what i would like from you are suggestions on which flavorings make better shake and vapes?

i will be doing 15 ml sample batches and 30 ml daily drivers of the ones i like.

so far my base recipe to add flavorings to is about .5m/l to a 15 ml test. target nic level 3mg. ratio close to 30/70 pg/vg

You'll be very limited if you want flavorings in a VG base - most of them are in PG, but if you use a low percentage of flavoring (I rarely go over 8% total) you can still get a high VG level.

I totally agree - We have an extensive kitchen in our lab, and only a small portion of our arsenal is VG based flavorants or molecules. I can say that there is very little success with VG flavoring profiles coming out with any real success.

well the others i had used a SAC but i have had limited success with them. im open to PG based of course. ill just have to adjust the VG ratio which is fine.

added a few points to the OP.

I love Flavor Art coconut and pineapple. The strawberry, while very good, is pretty weak. Many people like to mix that one with Capella Sweet Strawberry!

(I don't know what a SAC is!)

Vg does tend to mute flavors, but I've never tried vg based flavorings.
Fruits are generally shake and vape, creams, custards, and tobaccos require steeping.

But if someone's already mixing in a 70/30 base I can't see the reason for limiting to VG flavors. Easier to use either a VG or PG base I would think! I use a PG base and my juice is often around 90% VG, which is more then the max VG many commercial juice makers are using!

ECX renames Real Flavors as Northwest VG. I have never tried Real Flavors but GremlinDIY carries them: http://gremlindiy.com/flavors/real-flavors/ and I heard there Vanilla Custard and there Cream is pretty good so I placed an order tonight. They have a sale going on for the next 75 minutes mom15 for 15% off.

Price wise Gremlin beats ECX, you get 15ml for $3 instead of only 10ml at ECX.

I wound up picking 6 other RF to give them a try.

If you wind up really liking Real Flavors they have an ongoing deal at there website for 25% off, they only carry 60ml sizes though: https://www.realflavors.com/pages/welcome-elr-friends

Seems like a good alternative to those who are PG sensitive.

Nudenicotine also carries a line of VG based flavors, never tried them though.

Oh! Well, if that's the case, I guess I may have tried them. I have NW Lemondade and NW Birthday Cake. Both very nice. Though come to think of it, I am not sure they are VG.

I started using a sweetner(from ecigexpress) and it makes the batches way better imo. I was kind of falling off the DIY bandwagon until I started experimenting with the sweetner. Now I make batches that taste just like premium eliquids imo.

As far as a recipe to shake and vape I just started DIYing a lot again and right now I have been vaping :

7% Capella sweet strawberry
5% capella vanilla custard v2
3% FA vienna cream
1% FA Catalan cream
About 10 drops of Capella Blue raspberry cotton candy
and 15 drops of capella new york cheesecake
and 20-25 drops of sweetner
(forgot to write it down but its pretty close to this, basically threw in all the flavorings i have right now lol)

Pretty awesome vape imo but like I said, if you add sweetner and mix up pretty much any flavors you think would make a good vape it will probably come out pretty damn good if not then vapeable at the very least

My opinion is dont over do it on overall flavor percentages and also the more layering of the same sort of flavor you want to get( different strawberry flavorings and creams for example) the more complex and "premium" type vape you will get.

Have you considered using less water?? Your flavorings will thin the vg some.

And are you 100% sure they're Flavor Art and not The Flavor Apprentice (whose logo has changed to 'FA'?)

at first i did 5% dw,, my next try will be an end 50/50 with vg/pg,, even though i would rather not use pg. my husband pointed out that since i am usually 0 nic now.. that he thinks i will just stop vaping eventually........i dunno.. sometimes i add a little extra nic when i am stressed as it keeps my mouth shut :)

FA has some great flavors, no doubt. I also started out with mostly all FA flavors but wasn't having much success as well, turns out everyone has different tastes so I branched out, best thing I ever did or I would have quit DIY and went back to store bought.

Every flavor maker has there hits and misses and it really makes it more interesting to order a few different strawberries for example to find your taste, not someone else's.

I have never had FA Raspberry, not a big Raspberry fan but use it to enhance strawberries or for a little something extra in a mix. TFA Sweet Raspeberry is decent, I personally like INW Raspberry, maybe not as natural tasting but it does have a sweet rounded flavor to it. I definitely think you will taste INW Raspberry at .50 to 3.0%, the latter probably being way too much.

I do tend to go for more bold flavors, FA is admittedly more realistic in a lot of what they make but some people prefer Peach Ice Cream more than an actual Peach, different strokes for different folks.

i think you are right,, i watched a few diy or die videos and added some other brands to my shopping cart next go around. i was going to stop diy for about a month then try again. right now i have a ton of juice from venders so its no big deal... so when the 'cupboard' starts looking bare i may get more inspired lol

Most of the pertinent info has already been covered here, but all of Nude's flavors are VG based, since that was mentioned as desirable and OP is using Nude for nic base already...
