When times get tough, the best thing to do is leave town. After knocking Cruella off a cliff last week, Emma heads out of Storybrooke with Regina to get out from under Gold's thumb, but it doesn't go as planned. Shocker. But it does deliver some fantastic Regina and Emma scenes. Their relationship is the one that's evolved the most over the years, and this episode showed me I'd be happy to watch them driving around the country having adventures a la Sam and Dean Winchester in Supernatural.
The most solid parts of "Lily" were in the moments when Regina had to talk Emma off a ledge. She obviously has experience in overcoming her Evil Queen tendencies, and literally no one else could have reached Emma in the same way. Not even Hook. Lana Parrilla infused Regina's words with the weight of the character's past actions too and made them stick.
