Once Upon a Time's Season 3 finale took us back in time and on an extended visit to the Enchanted Forest and the Season 4 finale also went to the fairy tale world but with one big twist: the roles were reversed. The Author used his powers to create an alternate universe and give villains happy endings. His decision made for an entertaining adventure that gave the primary cast the chance to try on other personalities and pushed Henry into the spotlight.
Jared Gilmore was given the opportunity to shine, and he ran with it. Both the actor and the character have matured over the course of the series, and it's clear Henry was meant to be the hero. He didn't hesitate to take action and save the day, and it made me feel weirdly proud of him. Gilmore's grown into the role, and Henry's grown into his place in the story. Also, leaving him as the sole person in Storybrooke after the Author changed history was one of many smart and careful moves in the plot.
