At Gamescom today, Activision revealed that, for the first time ever, Skylanders SuperChargers will allow players to engage in multiplayer action online in both head-to-head race mode and regular cooperative play. Previous games in the series confined multiplayer to local play between two players, but SuperChargers will allow up to three remote players to join your sessions and one additional player to join in for the story mode.
As vehicles are at the heart of the sequel, race mode includes six circuit and point-to-point courses. There are two courses each for land, sea, and air vehicles, and all the courses are unlocked right at the start of the game. Naturally, the starter pack only comes with a single land vehicle, the Hot Streak, so players will have to buy additional vehicles to make use of the sea and air tracks. To ease play, the vehicles can be pre-loaded onto the portal so you won’t have to swap the physical toys in and out if you want to change your vehicles between races.
