Warning: Full spoilers from the episode follow.
After last week's touchstone episode, Orphan Black returned with a much lighter offering this week, in the hyperbolically titled "Community of Dreadful Fear and Hate." However that didn't make the new episode any less engaging, as the spotlight was squarely placed on Alison. Over the season, we'd seen little glimpses of her campaigning and secret drug dealing, but that storyline was brought to the fore here -- and it even tied into the overarching plot (at least a little)!
As an aside, it was fun meeting Alison's mom Connie (played by Sheila McCarthy), who just so happened to own Bubbles. Her subplot with Alison turned out to be a pretty fun one, mixed in with the campaign debate and simultaneous drug deal. (As Alison put it, "Holy frickin' Christmas cake!") Overall, this episode did a superb job of weaving in and out of the three main Alison threads, and it was great both Felix and Cosima roped into things as well.
