The Oscar nominations for the 94th Academy Awards have been announced — and The Power of the Dog is leading the pack this year with 12 nods.

Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross and Will & Grace alum Leslie Jordan unveiled the nominations for the 2022 Oscars during a live presentation on Tuesday. Jane Campion's western The Power of the Dog led the nominations with 12 nods across various categories, including the coveted Best Picture category, where it was placed alongside nine other nominees.

Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic Dune followed closely behind with 10 nominations, while Kenneth Branagh's film memoir Belfast earned seven nominations, tying with Steven Spielberg's musical remake of West Side Story, which also received seven nods, including a shout in the Best Director category. All three titles also earned a spot in the Best Picture category.

Benedict Cumberbatch received a nod for his performance as Phil Burbank in The Power of the Dog, marking his second Academy Award nomination in this category. He is up for Best Actor alongside Javier Bardem, Andrew Garfield, Will Smith, and Denzel Washington.
