Otis-Atty builds? What are you doing?

Anybody running an Otis-Atty (real or clone) want to give info on your build?

I've tried the same coil setups I use in my Hadaly clones but I don't get quite the same result. I've tried stainless clapton, parallel, twisted and simple coils. It's good but not quite as good. I assume I'm missing something quirky about the atomizer that would help. Any suggestions?

Ya know, I haven't really fiddled with the coil height on the Odis like I have with the Hadaly. I'm going to move it around a bit this weekend and see what it does.

Yeah, that's where I'm at right now. However, I like the clamps better on the Odis so I'm messing around with it to see if I can get good performance out of it. So far, not even close to the Hadaly.

I actually have tried the dual 2.5 mm with 26 guage stainless. It was decent for me but not in the same room as the Hadaly. But, I'll try going back to that again along with fiddling with the height of the coils. Maybe I missed something the first time around.

The flavor is much better with identical builds. The vapor production seems thicker and smoother.

And, it was easier to get there. Why, I don't quite know. When I built the Hadaly I tried a simple single coil, a clapton and then a parallel. All three of these were good but progressively better. I have finally settled on the parallel as the best. I also adjusted the height of the coils a bit up and a bit down and settled on the best height being that where the forming rod for the coil is setting on the edges of the rda body and the coil sort of hanging from the clamp decks. This all took a few days with each coil type and position getting a reasonable trial time.

This same work in the Odis hasn't gotten the same results. However, I haven't adjusted the height much and will be trying that next. But, the different coil types tried in the Hadaly have all been significantly better in the Hadaly than the Odis.

Obviously other tastes may vary but it seems that everyone else has settled on the Hadaly being better as well.

ETA: BTW, the reason I'm trying to get the Odis to work as well is that I prefer how the squonking works on the Otis. With the large downward angled air holes I can squonk it easier with less chance of oversquonking and leaking.

Also, I never did side by side, but played with the Odis for a weeks or so and put it away. Hedaly has not left my rotation since I got it last November.

The Hadaly is a little more flexible on airflow, slightly easier to build, has a lower profile and I like the flavor much, much better

I also like the esthetics of the Hadaly over the Odis

Well, I think I've gotten the Otis to work the way I want. Currently it has a moderately twisted coil with 26 gauge Stainless, 2.5mm and 5 wraps at .25 ohms. I set the coil at a 45 degree angle horizontally to the clamps and dropped it all the way down so the coil rod rests on the edges of the rda. (The same as how I set the coil height on the Hadaly).

This has made all the difference in the world. I had been trying to keep the coil running straight between the clamps and this must have left it too high. Rotating it and dropping it down has given the flavor and thick vapor production I expected from it in the beginning.

I'll try the same parallel coil as I use in my Hadaly next but oriented the new way and see how that goes.

Well, I installed both a slightly twisted and my regular parallel at a 45 degree horizontal angle and dropped as low as possible. This worked. I'm getting the same flavor and vapor production as my Hadaly. Works perfectly.

So, how do you rate the two the Hadaly and the O atty, do you prefer one over the other and why...I'm torn between the two, and looking for the best flavor.it seems the o atty would have less of a tendency leaking.

I'd still give a slight edge to the Hadaly on flavor. But, I do like the O-Atty's air holes better for the leaking. I'm running one of each on identical Coppervape mods with identical coils right now.

Also, keep in mind I'm using clones on both of these. The folks with authentics may have a different opinion.

I would rate it high compare to the airy type of atomizers. The Hadaly and O-Atty I think are in a small group that are head and shoulders above the others. If comparing against a big air type atomizer I don't think you would see a difference between the Hadaly and O-Atty. They are both in another galaxy. Only when comparing them head to head would you notice.

I don't think you would be upset by going with the O-Atty. It's a good atomizer. It just wasn't as intuitively easy to build (for me anyway) than the Hadaly which may be one reason the Hadaly is so much more well loved.
