IMO: Determining what business is good for the community by a few isn't good. "Village Board on Monday adopted a 180-day moratorium on "vaping" (or e-cigarette) shops, tattoo parlors and pawn shops" Officials say they want to weigh what kind of guidelines should be in place for future business growth in the village after the vape store was scheduled to open.
If ANY business doesn't generate at profit they will move on.

"Officials probably don't mean to throw e-cigs and tattoos in the same boat as porn, but that's the practical effect.Which ignores how, for instance, tattoos have become mainstream over the years, as welcome among soccer moms as among street gangs. These days, getting a tattoo is seen as little different than getting a haircut — a matter of aesthetics and personal expression, not rebellion. A CEO might have one, or five, beneath his tailored suit."

It's strange that the do-gooders want to keep "those people and their business" away from the town center, and yet the do-gooders would line up, bend over and grab their ankles if Walmart or another big store chain came to town.

They want Indie Coffee Shops, Specialized Bakeries, and Knick-knack and Curio stores to suit their gentrified view of the world while keeping out anyone who looks different, acts different. I suppose an art gallery would be cause for these narrow minded zealots to bring out the pitch forks and torches.

I grew up in small towns who had a narrow world view. In one particular town they voted to keep a Pizzeria out, but let a bowling alley open. Ya know all those folks who frequent Pizzeria's are the worst of the worst, but Bowlers are good.
