During BlizzCon, the Overwatch team announced it will be releasing a series of short animated features based on the Overwatch universe.
According to Chris Metzen, senior vice president of story and franchise development at Blizzard, the stories are designed in such a way that they can be watched in any order. In addition to the animated shorts, Blizzard will be releasing what it calls "comic shorts," which are free, static comics released online to support the game's story.
They're "nice, round stories," Metzen promised, and will work with the game and graphic novels to flesh out the universe of the Overwatch franchise.
Yesterday during the BlizzCon keynote, the company announced Overwatch will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 in addition to PC, and will be coming out Spring 2016 (or Autumn, if you're in the southern hemisphere).
