Hey all!
New to the forum.
I consider myself a fairly knowledgeable vaper in terms of ohms law, battery safety, general know-how but I have a massive thirst for this idea in my head I've had for a while now.
Bear with me if I get anything wrong;
I want to build a para-series quad 26650 box mod. Basically two back to back dual 26650 battery sleds, a switch, a pwm potentiometer, a 'mosfet' with resistor, 510 slot and an enclosure.
I have a fair idea about how to put it all together but I need to know a couple of things.
1. How shall I connect the battery sleds in tandem? Like, do I have both sleds in series config and have them wired up together or do both sleds need to be in parallel? This one has me kind of confused. My para-series mech simply has 2x2 batteries all positive ends up which makes sense but I'm struggling to picture this in a wired configuration for some reason. Orientation of batteries is confusing me.
In my head I am picturing this
Sled 1 Sled 2
| - ¦ + | | - ¦ + |
And then the negatives from both sleds connected together, and the positives from both sleds connected to create 1x 8.4V wire for each sled.
Or would it be more wise to daisy chain them like so:
Sled 1 sled 2
| + ¦ + | | + ¦ + |
Then having one sled's 2 positives connecting to both negatives of the second sled.
2. Taking into consideration that these would be 26650's is there special guage wire required, or a particular resistor needed for the mosfet or anything I may be missing in terms of quality components?
3. Is there anything else obvious that I am missing?
I apologise if something doesn't make any sense, I would love to learn about this as much as I can before I dive into any form of soldering/dremeling etc.
Want to be as safe as I can
