Just built my first parallel coil! 26 gauge 5 wraps on a kanger subtank plus with a istick 50w at .4 ohms. I was so happy it worked first time that I forgot to take pics! Anyway thanks to the forum I am starting to get this building down.

Welcome to the forum! My first parallel was a holy moment for me. Once I worked out a consistent technique for wrapping nice, clean ones, I didn't vape anything else for months. Built fresh ones every other day, even! They rule so hard. I tend to do more intricate builds now, but I will still do a parallel build any time, any day.

And yeah, parallel 26 is gonna get hot! Try 28 for something a little tamer. Still chucks the flavor and vapor... ..still has that oomf. Just runs a bit cooler.

Another cool thing you can try when you start getting more confident in your building skills is a triple parallel. Dual triple-parallel 28g is still one of my all-time favs. I think you'll find that it has a really chewy texture as well as a warm, smooth and full-bodied, throat hit. Flavor is next-level compared to regular parallels.

Also, staged parallels! Use two gauges for one parallel coil. Try something like 28 and 24 or even 28 and 26. Get yourself some nichrome and try mixing it with kanthal in parallel. If you can parallel, then you can probably twist, too. Try a parallel twisted 26 with straight 28.

There are so many different things you can do with the parallel technique. Get creative. Let this be your gateway to more advanced and rewarding builds. Happy building!
