PayPal scammers??

Just was watching the local news this morning and they had a warning for PayPal scams lately..seems thieves are hacking the account and sending fraudulent receipts saying money has been deposited in the account, but actually pocketing the money themselves... I do not use PayPal so I really don't know much about them...At least I can dispute any fraudulent charges on my CC...

Kind of hard to do, just like your bank ATM you need a password to get in.

And how it generally happens isn't really a PayPal hack, but a PC or mobile device hack. Password-stealing code gets into the PC (most often an MS-Windows PC) or mobile device, sends credentials to the criminals, and they log in as you.

Well, I would never use my "smart" phone for doing PayPal, banking or the like, anyway. Not even from my own network or over my provider's network.

Actually, many people unknowingly give their passwords away in what is known as email phishing. I have an old email account that is constantly bombarded with "PayPal Account this" or "Amazon Account that" emails that use this very method in an attempt to trick me into giving up my login information. They have gotten better over the years by using proper grammar, authentic company logos, and elaborate front end websites that mimic the real login portals of actual businesses. In a point and click world, this rouse seems to net quite a few unknowing victims
