Peppery/rough first few hits

Hi all..

I've been vaping for about month. I'm using a Kangertech subtank mini with the rebuildable deck. Coil is running at .8ohm at 25wats.
My problem is that the first few (5 or 6) hits always give me an unpleasant peppery/rough throat hit before settling down to be nice, smooth and full of flavor. I've tried everything i can think of trying different juices, different PG/VG combo's, different coils (multiple coil lengths to give different resistances, coils tightly and loosely packed) different wattage settings and my wicks are always perfect (always well primed before using, never dry, wicking perfectly every time) and still always get the same thing.

Can any one suggest anything?

Cotton takes a few hits to break in, I go through this on any build on any device. I usually go mouth to exhale until I notice the flavor coming in right for tanks. for RDA's I take the cap off, juice it up good, fire it and blow across the coils. pulsing this process in about 3 second bursts and repeating several times.

When I first set it up I do the same thing and it works well giving me nice flavorful hits with the big smoke we all know and love. The problem comes in when the unit sits and isn't used for an hour or so. It happens all day everyday.

Are you talking about when you first build it or if you let it sit for a while . I make my coils pretty close to yours , (25 watts to high for me ) . Seems like it's got to be the wicking material , or the juice flow . A new wick I start at 12 watts go to 15 then up . For me , it takes any wick a short time to break in . Also , is your wire clean ?

Oh ..... then try taking a hit with power off ,to get the juice in . The older heads have tiny holes for juice .

I know this is an older post but I was wondering if you had found a solution to this problem?
I have noticed a similar problem with the factory coils, seems like they don't want to wick properly all the time. Will go from a nice full flavorful hit and then all of a sudden tastes like junk!! Happens to me with brand new coils or used and cleaned coils. Very annoying!!
