Okay, so this may not have been the intense, Samaritan-heavy episode we were hoping for following last week's traumatic "The Day the World Went Away," but I loved loved loved the reveal, right at the end, of Team Machine 2.0. Which would be Annie Ilonzeh's Harper (from last season), Jimmi Simpson's Logan Pierce (Season 2), and the deep pull of James Carpinello's Joey Durban from the show's third episode, "Mission Creep." A new team operating on the behest of the Machine, rushing to prevent crimes against, or by, irrelevant numbers.
They were a mirror team, comprised of the billionaire tech genius, the identity-assumer, and the soldier. A formidable trio sent to protect Reese and provide his team with an out after stopping a drone bomb meant for the president. It was a really fun callback/close-out to the entire "Numbers" arc of the show. Our heroes got their most important number to date - someone who should NOT have been an irrelevant number, really - and then we found out that should our guys and gal fall to Samaritan, the crusade would live on. Provided the Machine survives the show, of course.
