Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow...
I loved this episode. No, there weren't any big revelations on the Samaritan front. Or the Shaw front. Or a "number." Or any of that. In fact, the small moments in "Terra Incognita" that did involve the Machine felt sort of tacked on. Though I'll never turn down a chance to see Root as a runaway bride.
What a phenomenal surprise it was to get Taraji P. Henson back for an episode. What a great move. One that nicely pairs with her recent success over on FOX's smash-hit, Empire.
And by surprise, I of course mean that it was all nicely kept under wraps until a week or so ago. Which is still great by show business standards. The previews for this episode graciously left Carter out of the footage (leaving...not much), though you knew she'd show up. The news had broken. It wasn't being guarded. The question then became "How will Carter appear?" Dream? Flashback? And for how long?
