Pharaoh rta wicking and burnt hits

Hey guys I put my parallel coil build in the deck that comes with the pharaoh rta and wicked it the same way rip trippers suggests and it works really well in the 30-40 watt range for about 1 or 2 seconds but if I take a hit any longer than that I get a really harsh burnt hit. I would assume that it's a wicking issue and I believe it's not sucking up juice fast enough to keep up. Does anyone know how I can wick this or prep the cotton differently to get a non burnt hit? Maybe it's normal in an rta to get burnt hits after a few seconds? It's my first rebuildable so I'm still learning. Thought I should mention it's reading.23 ohms

Go to youtube and watch the MikeVapes video. He claims his method is the bees knees. Couldn't swear to it, just hoping to help.

MikeVapes used a different technique than I've ever seen. It might work for you.

Sorry I don't have the Pharaoh so that's all I can do to help.

The Pharaoh does need a good amount of wicking but don't stuff it, that's why you're getting burnt/dry hits. Make sure the cotton is nice & fluffy & the wick channel is covered but not stuffed. You'll be golden!

So does that depend on how much cotton you cut from the pad in the beginning?

I watched mikevape's video on it and it's the same way rip does it I believe. I'll try and lighten up on the cotton and see if it gets better

No, because you can have it tight in the coil then cut to the length you want, then take your pointy tweezers & comb out the excess until it's not as dense then cut off the excess, then tuck in.

I think that's the step I skipped was thinning it out with tweezers. I'll give it a try

Haven't got a chance to yet, been moving! I'll try it tonight and post the results. With my .23 build should I be able to go higher than 45 watts without burnt hits?

go ahead and post a pic before you toss it in and and throw juice on it... when i build the pharoah the key is FLUFFY. you want a nice wide appearing wick that is super super fluffy. you just want it down in the juice channel, not crammed. just use some elbow tweezers and let it fall in, dont push it down in there... but fluffy... super whispy fluffy
