Hello everyone, Pizza Dave here, delivering you a review of the Zero pod system by Renova/Vaporesso. This is one of the latest pod systems to hit the market and is packed full of a laundry list of specs and features for a small affordable kit. Complete with an Omniboard mini, 2ml refillable pods, inhale firing mechanism, multiple power outputs, battery indication, and a slick push to fill system, the Zero hits the ground running and offers a lot in a small package. Like everything else, nothing matters if it doesn’t perform. So, let’s dive in and find out, shall we?

OPERATION
This device features a few more bells and whistles compared to basic pod systems. To turn it on and off, you must hit the small black button 5 times. This button is backlit with LEDs which indicate a few things. For starters, pressing it 3 times cycles through different power output settings.
POWER SETTINGS
Green – Max power of 12.5w
Blue – Medium power of 10.5w
Red – Low power of 9w
To check the power mode the device is in, hold down the button and it will illuminate in the color of the setting you are at.
LED BATTERY INDICATION DURING INHALE
Green – >70% -
Blue – 30-70%
Red -
0%
The led indication also functions during the charging cycle. It will be red while charging and will go green when full. Overall, they nailed it with indications. I love knowing about where the battery level is and like the option to tweak the output for optimal performance.

PODS
The pods that come with the Zero have a 2ml capacity. The shape of the pods fit the lips better than any other pod I have tried. Refilling these pods works well. It has a check valve style port, so all you need to do is push the tip of the bottle in, squeeze the bottle, and voila, it’s filled. This is not great for those who use dropper bottles, but thankfully Renovo thought ahead and included a small refill bottle. The pods are held in place via magnets. They stay snuck in place but can be pulled off if you attempt to pull the device out of your pocket by the pod.

HOW IT VAPES / FINAL THOUGHTS
Now that you know how to run it and how to fill it, it’s time to vape it. Overall, the vape from this is just as good as any pod I have tried out there. The draw is middle of the road when it comes to restriction. It is a nice medium draw mouth to lung. I did some side by side testing with other devices and found the draw to be very close to that of a Juul. The Innokin EQ and Joyetech Runabout were both looser than this. Now for flavor. It provides an excellent vape. The flavor production is right up there with the Innokin EQ and Joyetech Runabout, which up and until now were the reigning champs for flavor in my opinion. I didn’t notice a massive difference in the power modes. It’s a small difference between the modes, but it is noticeable if you really really really try to differentiate. Doing a blind test, I could tell the difference between red and green, but not blue to red or green. I ended up leaving it on blue all the time as I felt a middle range was about right and thought it could extend battery life and coil life. The only gripe that I have with this kit was that I only had one pod to test with. There were moments where it flooded and gurgled, but then it would clear out and be fine again for 100 puffs. When it was flooded it also struggled to fire unless I really puffed hard on it. Keep in mind also that the temperature I was running this at was about 10 degrees F, which always thickens up e-liquid. Pod life seems to be on part with most companies. I started to taste it going bad around 8 refills. I am still running it on refill 13, and I don’t see myself chucking it just yet. Battery life on this is surprisingly good for the size. The 650mah battery had no issues getting through the day and could easily get me partially into the next day if I wanted to, but I tossed it on the charger at the end of my day anyway. Coincidentally the pod was nearly empty at about the battery was depleted.
As for final thoughts, the Zero is right at the number 2 slot in my favorite pod systems tested this year. The Innokin EQ is still ranked #1 based on flavor and lack of issues with the pods. Battery life is good, flavor is good, and it’s quite affordable. With issues aside, I can definitely recommend this device for anyone looking for a pod system.
THE OVEN TEST
If this one accidentally went into the pizza oven, would I go out and buy another? I don’t think I will ever say yes to this question with a pod system. Once again, there will be another one out by the end of the week and they aren’t my primary means of vaping.

REVIEW CRITERIA: I use each item for about two weeks to ensure I have collected enough data to adequately write a review. I use the same e liquid in tanks or rdas throughout all my reviews to ensure that I am comparing apples to apples between all modern equipment. I do not post reviews until I feel confident that I have used it enough to give an educated review. The reason I started doing reviews was due to poor purchasing decisions in my vaping infancy about two years ago. Back then, I purchased several different pieces of hardware without really enjoying it and I hope my reviews can guide people into spending their hard-earned money more wisely than I did! ****Keep in mind that some items I receive may be pre-release and not in retail packaging. Quality may be less than the finished product and what is in the package may differ from the retail package as well.
