When it comes to adapting video games into comic books, you wouldn't think the Plants vs. Zombies franchise would be high on any publisher's list. But as it turns out, there's enough to the mythology of this kooky universe to justify an ongoing series. It's not deep, but Bully For You #1 is a devilishly fun all-ages read.It shouldn't come as any great surprise that this new series works so well, given that writer Paul Tobin is steering the ship. Tobin has a talent for working in a number of genres (including a vastly different video game adaptation in the form of Dark Horse's The Witcher comics). Here Tobin focuses on lighthearted comedy as he explores the nefarious Zomboss' attempts to terrorize Neighborville while Crazy Dave and his niece and nephew fight to stop him. The result is about as lighthearted and goofy as a zombie comic can possibly get.
