Sony won't likely be releasing a PlayStation Vita successor anytime soon, as SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida doesn't believe there's room for one in the current market, thanks to the popularity of smartphone gaming.
"That's a tough question. People have mobile phones and it's so easy to play games on smartphones. And many games on smartphones are free, or free to start," Yoshida said when asked about the possibility of Vita 2 during a Q&A at EGX 2015.
"I myself am a huge fan of PlayStation Vita and we worked really hard on designing every aspect," he continued. "Touch-based games are fun - there are many games with really good design. But having sticks and buttons make things totally different.
