Please suggest a replacement for my tank

Hi all. I'm currently using the kangertech nano, with a .5 coil, and an ego one battery.

My major problem is the leaking. I've tried all advice to get it to stop and it doesn't. I also have a second kangertech nano that I bought when I went out of town and forgot mine. Same problem.

My second problem is that I get a burnt taste whenever I put a freshly charged battery on it. Is this due to inconsistent wattage? Should I be upgrading my battery also?

Thanks

I dont really like to recommend anything just because I havent been vaping that long. Its only been about 6 months or so. If you want a nice basic setup take a look at eleaf istick and a knger mini. I picked up the istick 40w and love it. Can probably grab both for $60 or less.

You don't like to recommend anything, but you just recommend practically the same tank he already has.

I love it!

Get a TC device and a Uwell Crown or a Smok TFV4 with some Ni200 coils. No more burnt taste or leaking. You can get a nice TC box and tank at some great prices right now.

Try the Crown with either the .25 or .5 stainless coils..good vape and top fill is a plus too.. I have two and by far are my favorites!

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Joye-eGo-ONE-2200mAh-Battery-p/joye-eob22.htm

Is that the battery you're talking about? If so you're not going to be able to run below .5 ohm, so buying a Crown tank would be a waste unless you jump up on the mod(battery) as well.

As for the Kanger Nano, my brother runs that same thing and said his leaks as well. Sounds like it's just the tank, that or some mishandling but I'd put my money on it just being a defect in the product considering that's at least 3 instances of it (2 for you and 1 for my brother).

At this point I'd ask yourself if you want to take a step up or continue where you're at. I have my old Aspire Atlantis v1 tank and it works nicely when I use the .5+ coils on my "weaker" devices, problem is I don't know if you can get the v1 anymore and the v2 for me is annoying because of the way they did the new drip tips.

Anyways, If you're looking for something to replace your tank be aware of the restrictions of your mod/battery. If you're looking at getting a new setups there's tons of options, tfv4(my fav or versatility/easy rebuilds), crown, herakles, triton, so many and the same with mod/batteries.

I highly suggest www.vapecrawler.com to search for the best prices on things, it'll save you money to shop around and that site makes it easy.

ok first off
jerus is correct about limitations of a battery for what topper you use.
secondly going to a crown or tfv4 is a huge step up in airflow and vapor production versus the subtank nano so be prepared for that
both are two of the best tasting tanks
the tfv4 has so many coil options your head will spin
the crown does not leak period

as far as a new battery
if you get either of them you want to have at least 60 watts of power for the crown
80-100 watts for the tfv4

^^ Yup to what he said. Though, I have to say I'm a fan of the versatility of the TFV4, but that only comes if you're willing to rebuild your own coils. I made a 1.4 ohm coil on the single RDA the other night and I can run it on some of my old devices and it's about the same as the heads I was using back then. Is it worth it to buy that tank for those old devices, hell no, not unless you have interest in using it with more power as well (my plan, and why I'm planning on buying a black mini when they're out).

TFV4 is only worth it IMO if you're interested in rebuilding your coils and/or want a diversity of options, that or just want the power but don't want to graduate to the dripper/RTA stuff.

Thanks for all the replies.

I ended up going to the vape store a few blocks from my house to see what they had. I picked up an mvp 3.0 pro, which came with the isub G. I kinda wish that I had bought a mod with a temperature control. But the new setup is nice. No burnt taste, no leaking.

I may upgrade to the crown if this one gives me trouble, but it doesn't seem any different from the kanger nano in terms of vapour and taste, so far.

Honestly, I'd probably prefer to use a higher wattage, and hotter temperature, but I would be worried about how much e-juice I would go through if I did. I already spend as much per week on juice as I am willing to.

Are you buying your juice online or at the store? Check out the ejuice area here and you may find some better prices, but yes when you ramp up the power the juice goes up as well making your wallet grow thin. Personally I have my favorite flavors which I use when I'm feeling it, then a bunch of cheaper stuff that I don't mind blowing through ($22/29ml for my good stuff, $7-8/30ml for the cheap stuff I have but there's quality cheaper stuff out there if you buy in more bulk).

I buy the juice at the store. The only brand I've found that doesn't give me either phlemy lungs or a sore throat is Divine. So, going with whatever's cheap at the time isn't an option.

I may have to look into making my own. It sounds like suppliers for the nicotine base may be limited though, as I'm in canada.

Well guys this is my first post but I figured i would lend my advice since I just experienced the same issue, first I gotta say just ditch the ego one .......
The One was my first vape and I honestly despised it, I actually stopped vaping because I hated everything about it.
I recently have come back again to quit smoking cigs for good and I purchased the evic vt. I love the fuckin thing but I was having major issues with the ego mega tank that was supplied with the kit leaking out of the vents constantly, so at the advice of the kid at the local gorilla vape store I picked up an artic tank.
The evic mod with the artic tank is absolutely amazing !!!!!!! Everything about this setup is better, bigger clouds, way better taste and all the options from the evic make vaping a joy and the best part is not a single leak because of the way the artic tank is set up.

I'm new to this style of vaping just switching over recently from the ecigs lol. I didn't go with the recommended work your way up theory that the vape shops tried to sell me on. I knew I didn't want to smoke anymore and I wanted a solid setup so I saved up a few dollars and jumped right in. Like someone recommended above snag you up a decent TC dual 18650 battery mod (I went with the IPV 3Li VR after many recommendations) and put a Crown tank on it with Ni200 coils. Set the temp and power on it and get a nice consistent vape every time.

Aside from holding 1.5 MLs more juice the mini and the nano are identical; just a scaled down version of the mini. In fact the standard Subtank, the mini Subtank, and the nano, as long as we're talking about the current v2 Subtanks that have the RBA+, are all practically the same thing at a different scale.

I have two nanos one was given to me and the other I bought. Both of them tast like burnt rubber no matter what I do. Phil Busardo said they tasted like $ss I do believe he is right. I have tried everything and I do mean everything. The only clue I have is if you notice the wick sets right next to the rubber o ring at the base and almost touches it the o rings are ether blk or red not clear. Out of all the tanks that I have or had had this is the only one that is like this. I have been using the melo with great performance.

I have 2 of the Kangertech Sub Box Mini's and have never had a problem with leaking however the horizontal coils are terrible. I get great flavor and fairly good life out of the 0.5 Vertical coils. My favorite tanks right now are the Aspire Triton and the Joytech Delta II. I have no leakage issues with either. I have the Black Delta II on a Black SMY 170 watt TC and the Aspire on a Koopor Plus.

You'll end up upgrading your mod if you end up wanting more vapor production. If you are happy where you are now, it's all good.

Juice prices are the big issue now. Especially since the vast majority of vapors are going through a lot of juice a day. Many of us have turned to DIY. Some places have realized that they HAVE to lower prices to get consistent business from vapers.

DIY isn't hard or expensive, really. Finding a good recipe is no more complicated than looking around here for one. Or many other sources, for that matter.

I have a Kanger sub mini and I love it and had no issues with leaks...until I dropped it once and broke the glass. I replaced the glass but now I have to deal with leaking all the time. I will be upgrading to the Uwell Crown with the RBA and will hopefully never have to buy another tank again.

I won't dissuade you from getting the Crown, but if your Mini is leaking after you replaced the glass you have an o-ring that isn't seating/sealing against your new glass.

Try a new or different o-ring.

I just wouldn't want you to throw away something that only needs an easy fix.

If you are on the fence about a complete upgrade, you can find a basic mod like the eleaf 100w without temp control for about $35, and still upgrade again later if you want more features or quality.

I find the Kangers to vape harsher than the higher powered tanks, but just my experience.

Also, I tried temp control when upgrading from Kanger mini, and was not so great for me. I now generally use coils in the .50 range, as the .20 coils are too strong for my wimpy throat. Some like TC, others not. But mods without TC are much cheaper.

Arctic is ok, but I do not get great coil life and the air flow does not lock in place. Crown is great if you have patience for more coil priming, and therefore another tank as a backup. Atlantis V2 with 0.3 coils is dead reliable but flavor ok not quite the best. Herakles is a little warmer vape and likes more power, sort of like an Arctic thats been working out at the gym. I find the 0.6 coils hassle free so far.

Everything changes if DIY.......

I have all the kangers, the plus, mini and nano. The mini leaked on me one time and it was my fault because I did not screw the coil in tight enough. I have a Smok TFV4. I'm waiting on the Ni200 coils. I did do a Nickel build in it and the air flow is beautiful. I love the top fill on this tank. Its so nice to just dump some juice in when needed. I am also waiting on a Uwell Crown. If the Crown is as good or better that the Smok then I think it will be time to say good bye to the Kangers.

I just got the crown today. All I have to power it right now is my EVIC VT so I am running the .5 (came with the .15 &.25 also) so far it is amazing but I burned through a tank in about ten pulls at 60w. Awesome clouds and great flavor. I cant wait for the rba deck and I am gonna drop it on an iStick 100w

Just my experience with kanger subtanks I had the subtank mini about a yr ago my first subtank. Thing leaked like crazy did everything to correct it unfortunately with the design of the o-ring only sealing the inside of the glass it seems to seep out after a couple cleanings the rings wear out from having to pull off the glass. I stopped using mine back when they had the melting insulator issues with the RBA deck (mine melted and ruined the taste of the tank and the deck was junk) between that and the leaking mine ended up in the trash. Go with the uwell crown tank my fav one to date. My arctic had always been good to me too. There's a lot of good subtanks out on the market these days. Definitely a good idea to look into upgrading to a more advanced mod. subohm vaping requires more power and low resistance capabilities. A regulated box that's capable of 50watts or higher is a good start (you also can still vape low wattages 10-20watt range on these mods) and can at least handle a minimum resistance of .2ohms (interchangeable battery is a plus) and stay away from the istick mods I have heard online and have friends that had a lot of issues with them. Sigelei and IPV are great mods a lil on the pricier side but reliable IMO.

I have to give the iStick 100w a shot given the price (and looks) and the fact that once I rock the dual 18650's a lot of mods become within reach. I have seen dozens of threads about problems with the 50w model but logically dozens of complaints vs the multi thousands of mods they have sold (20s, 30s, TC 40s, 50s ) still gives me hope. Ideally; I, like many others want to be able to vape on the go without carry extra batteries and a charger. Hopefully the iStick 100w will do for me what the iStick 30 did.

I went from a Kanger Subtank Mini to a Crown. I have had no problems with with either. I run a .5 Ohm coil in the Kanger and a .25 in the Crown. The Kanger has nice flavor and good vapor production at 22.5 watts. I run the Crown at 80-90 watts and get better flavor and vapor production compared to the Kanger but at the cost of much higher juice consumption and shorter battery life. I would recommend the Crown over the Kanger if you have the right mod and the means to keep the Crown full of juice.

For Sh*ts and giggles I threw the crown (.5 ohm) on my iStick 30 at full power and it actually isn't bad. I get ok clouds and really good flavor. I am sure the battery will be dead within the hour but it still surprised me.

Originally I got my iStick 100w to have more reserve power. I could go days using my Kanger Subtanks around 25-35 watts. Then I bumped to 40-45 watts and got a little less battery life.

Then the Crown came and after a really long break-in (on a .5 coil) I got about a day out of the iStick. That was firing the Crown between 57-70 watts. I'm right back where I was at the beginning with my Subox Mini kit for battery life, but not for taste. The Crown has the Subtank killed on taste, but will definitely add a few mls to your daily juice consumption.

I see why people want 150+ watt mods. Not to fire up to 150+ watts, but for the 3 battery reserve capacity.

That'll be my next move anyway.

True, I will step up to something with 100w plus sooner than later.

At the time the Evic was the only temp control I could find locally and for now I am really enjoying it, I also just purchased a SMOK TFV4 yesterday and am playing around with the single coil RBA and Nickel wire. I have just started building my own and am getting great results with this new setup @ 460F and 50 watts. It's a battery and a juice killer but the flavor and vapor production are great.

Stays nice and cool just how I like it.

Lower your wattage prime the coil (drop 4-5 drops and a little juice on sides) I prefer vertical and I use max VG honestly have not had ANY leaks and used it for soooo long now (since came out) in a rotation w other tanks.
Maybe your wattage is too high?

I went and got the istick 100w today and I think I like it. It feels good in the hand and I really like the power. On the other hand the fire button is very touchy and the up/down buttons are very loud and clicky when in my pocket. I have already learned to turn it off when I put it in my pocket. The crown is working exceptionally well on it. I am gonna rip the iStick apart in a few days and shore up the buttons

Really ? I haven't done a Ti build yet but on Ni I'm getting great results.

The main reason I started getting more into TC was that both my tanks would get super hot on wattage, to the point that my Artic tank would be scolding hot at the drip tip.

Right now I use Nickel but I have some Titanium wire and coils on order.

Same here, Ive only tried a prebuilt Ti on my Artic tank and I wasn't impressed.

I am interested in trying my hand at a Nickel Kanthal twist, from what I understand it still runs with TC but is a little tastier.
