Important Information About This Recipe:
This recipe started from a clone of Space Jam's Pluto that I found somewhere online. I honestly don't remember exactly where I found the original recipe, but here are a few different sources that contain the original content. I'm pretty confident that I got it from one these:
Though this recipe did not taste like (from memory) the original Pluto by Space Jam, it wasn't bad. Knowing that this recipe had a lot of potential I started tweaking it from there. This has been an extensive process (over 6 months) and I have been trying it at varying percentages with different flavor companies. I still don't feel that I have truly hit the sweet spot (for me) on this, but think I definitely have something good enough to share.

Please leave any constructive comments/feedback and questions to help recipe this develop further. If the author of the original recipe for the Pluto clone sees this, please make your claim to that recipe so I can thank you greatly. When trying to find the oldest, most original source of this I started to run-in-circles between forums (recipe has been copy/pasted quite a bit apparently). Also, please make sure to cite this as your source if you choose to share this recipe elsewhere on the web.

So with all of that said, here it goes: my first recipe posting (ever)

  • Ethyl Maltol/Cotton Candy (TFA) = 0.75%
  • Fuji (FA) = 0.50%
  • Honeydew (TFA) = 2.00%
  • Lemon Sicily (FA) = 0.50%
  • Orange (FA) = 0.50%
  • Papaya (TFA) = 0.75%
  • Pear (FA) = 0.50%
  • Pineapple (TFA) = 0.75%
  • Sour (TFA) = 0.25%
  • Strawberry (FA) = 0.50%
  • Sweetener = 0.25%
  • Watermelon (FA) = 2.00%
  • Watermelon (TFA) = 0.75%
Total Flavorings: 10.00%

Mixing Notes:

***Please remember that tastes are very subjective and you may end up with different results than me. Please use the information below only as a reference to what I have been doing and find what works best for you and your tastes***

Nicotine solution, PG, and VG all came from Wizard Labs.

It tastes okay after mixing as a shake-and-vape. My overall mixing-method is really OCD and I usually give all my mixed juices about 3-4 cycles of:
  • 5-10min heating (about 170F in a double-boiler)
  • Vigorous shaking for 3-5min
  • 3-6min in an ultrasonic
After doing the above I will put this juice away for a few days to let time work its magic. To me, the sweet spot in the flavor starts to come out about 4 days to a week after mixing. I personally think it tastes more uniform and "melted-together" after a couple of days, regardless of using heat or an ultrasonic to try to accelerate the steep.

I haven't experienced much, if any, flavor loss while aging. To be honest though I haven't been able to keep a bottle longer than 3-4 weeks :). This juice (and it's variants) have become ADVs for me so I usually make 3-4 30ml bottles at a time and keep them in a rotation so I always have some pre-steeped that's ready to vape.

Hardware Setups Used In:
IPV Mini2 w/ Orchid v6 (FT clone)
  • Dual 28g micro-coil with 2mm wraps totaling .6 ohms
  • Japanese cotton wick
  • Tastes fantastic on this setup. Amount of flavor can be a bit much when chain-vaping though.
  • Usually vape this at either 7w or 15w.
Vamo v5 w/ (modified) Protank 2
  • Single 32g micro-coil with 1/16" (spaced) wraps totaling 1.6 ohms
  • Japanese cotton wicks
  • Tastes good with the setup. Flavor is slightly muted but I attribute that to my recent re-wicking of the coils (probably put a hair too much cotton).
  • Usually vape this between 7w-9w.
Vamo v5 w/ (modified) Kanger T3S
  • Single 32g micro-coil with 1/16" (spaced) wraps totaling around 1.6 ohms
  • Japanese cotton wicks
  • Tastes good with this setup. Personally like this combo a little better than with ProTank2 setup, but that could be attributed to getting the ProTank modifications to my preferences (airflow, coil build, wicking, etc).
  • Usually vape this setup between 5.5w-7.5w.

Juice Flavor Description:
Very sweet fruity flavor with a sour bite that is fairly balanced for the recipe. Watermelon is dominant flavor but isn't extremely overpowering to the other flavors. I think they complement each other very well. The closest real-world comparison I can give to this juice is that it tastes like a 'more-rounded cousin' of the "Hand Grenade" cocktail that's exclusive to Tropical Isle bar on Bourbon Street (New Orleans).

EDIT #1: I've been experimenting with adding Coconut (FA). A few tests of adding 0.25%-0.50% have been successful. It provides a sensation of being "fuller/thicker" and smooths out the exhale flavor a little.
One test sample that had 2% overwhelmed it with the coconut flavor though. FA Coconut really is powerful stuff!
